Former Manchester City boss Mancini heads Sky Bet’s prices as the odds-on favourite at 4/6 to replace the title-winning Ranieri as the man in charge at the King Power Stadium.
Mancini enjoyed a short loan spell with Leicester at the start of 2001.
The online bookmaker have priced up Alan Pardew, who was sacked by Crystal Palace in December, at 10/1 and the experienced Guus Hiddink is available at the same price.
There is an interesting name from Leicester’s recent past at 11/1.
Nigel Pearson is a contender to return to the club that he led to the Championship title in the 2013/14 season and helped to avoid the drop in the Premier League in the following campaign.
Former Ajax and Inter Milan chief Frank de Boer can also be backed at 11/1.
Former Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is priced up as an option at 14/1 alongside caretaker chief Craig Shakespeare.
Martin O’Neill is the other former boss of the Foxes who could be in the frame for a return.
O’Neill, who won two League Cups with Leicester during his spell in charge between 1995 and 2000, is on offer at 20/1 to replace Ranieri.
