Watch: Jose Mourinho heaps praise on Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool's incredible comeback against Barcelona

"This is about him. This is a reflection of his personality, his fighting spirit." The words Jose Mourinho used to hail Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool's stunning comeback against Barcelona.

Liverpool produced one of the greatest comebacks in history as they overturned a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona by defeating the Spanish giants 4-0 at Anfield to reach their second successive Champions League final.

The odds were stacked massively against them after the first leg, especially with Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino absent, but two goals apiece from Divock Origi and half-time substitute Georginio Wijnaldum saw them progress 4-3 on a monumental night that sent Reds fans wild.

Mourinho, working as a pundit for beIN Sport, lavished praise on Liverpool manager Klopp for being able to inspire a group of players in a way few others could possibly replicate.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid boss said: "I didn't expect this but if it is possible then Anfield is one of the places it can happen.

"I have to say, this comeback has one name - Jurgen. This is not about tactics, this is not about philosophy. This is about heart, soul and fantastic empathy that he's created with this group of players.

"They ran the risk of finishing this fantastic season with nothing to celebrate and now they are one step from being European champions. And I think Jurgen deserves it.

"The work they are doing in Liverpool is fantastic but this is about him. This is a reflection of his personality.

"This is about him. This is a reflection of his personality, don't give up, his fighting spirit, every player giving eveything. They miss one player he's not crying. He's not crying because he's playing 50 or 60 matches per season like other coaches do.

"Tonight is about Jurgen's mentality."
