Our football betting insight columnist Dale Tempest is backing Bruno Fernandes to shine at Chelsea on Monday.
Backing Bruno
The other big game of the weekend is on Monday night where Chelsea play Manchester United. The Red Devils have only taken four points from 15 in 2020, so I’ve no plans to be backing them to follow up on their Carabao Cup success at the Bridge, but I do have eyes for their new signing Bruno Fernandes.
He was the best player on the park in his Old Trafford debut against Wolves on the February 1. His touch and awareness were superb, but it was the one-man mission he was on that really impressed me.
At every opportunity he was letting loose on goal with three of his five attempts hitting the target. He had 69 successful passes from his 86 attempts and, even more impressive, had 32 successful attacking third passes from 42.
He’s 5/2 to have 2+ shots on target in the game which seems a cracking price to me. With the fact he’ll be on free kicks, penalties, corners and throw-ins, he just wants to be involved in everything, then we have to be involved.
Rocking Robins
Finally a bet from the Sky Bet EFL Championship. Leeds are no doubt the class act in the division and they play some wonderful football, but from a betting point of view we have to take them on.
They play Bristol City, who have the third-best away record in the division with an impressive 8-4-4 record to back that up.
Now, Leeds might win with Kalvin Phillips back but at 4/11 they're way too short to be backing. You can back the Robins at 8/11 getting a two-goal start so we can take a 1-0 2-1 or 3-2 loss to collect and with any sort of victory more than suiting Bielsa it seems the sensible play.
Good Luck!
