Tottenham 2-7 Bayern Munich
- Tottenham Hotspur have conceded seven goals in a home match for the very first time in any major competition.
- Spurs conceded seven goals in a competitive match for the first time since December 1996 versus Newcastle United in the Premier League (1-7).
- Spurs’ 2-7 defeat was the biggest ever margin of defeat by an English team at home in European competition.
- Serge Gnabry is the only the second German player to score four goals in a Champions League match after Mario Gomez versus Basel in March 2012 (also for Bayern, 7-0-win).
Liverpool 4-3 RB Salzburg
- Liverpool have won their last 12 home matches in all competitions, their best home winning run since an 18-game streak between April and November 1985.
- FC Red Bull Salzburg became only the fourth team to score three goals away at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League (also Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid), and the only one of those four to fail to win the game.
- Since the start of the 2017-18 season, there have been 47 goals scored in Champions League games at Anfield - more than at any other venue.
- Since the start of the 2017-18, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is the only player to have both scored (14) and assisted (10) at least 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League, assisting two goals tonight.
- FC Red Bull Salzburg’s two UEFA Champions League matches this season have seen 15 goals (9 scored, 6 conceded), more than any other team.
- FC Red Bull Salzburg’s Hwang Hee-Chan has had a hand in five goals in just two UEFA Champions League games this season (2 goals, 3 assists).
- Andrew Robertson is the first Scotsman to score for Liverpool in UEFA European competition since Gary McAllister scored against Alavés in the 2001 UEFA Cup final.
- Liverpool forward Sadio Mané became the sixth African player to score 15 UEFA Champions League goals, with only Didier Drogba reaching that tally in fewer games (25) among those six than Mané (26).
Lille 1-2 Chelsea
- Chelsea ended a run of four games without a win in the Champions League (D2 L2), picking up their first victory in the competition since November 2017 (4-0 v FK Qarabag).
- Lille are winless in their last nine home Champions League games (D3 L6), losing each of the last four in a row.
- In the 68 games that Frank Lampard has managed between Derby County and Chelsea in all competitions, his teams have only kept a clean sheet in 22% of their matches (15/68).
- Across all competitions, only Raheem Sterling (9) has scored more goals for an English club than Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham (8) in 2019-20.
- Tammy Abraham's goal (assisted by Fikayo Tomori) was Chelsea's first in the Champions League scored and assisted by two English players since March 2012, when Frank Lampard set up John Terry against Napoli.
- Since making his Champions League debut for Chelsea in September 2013, Willian has been directly involved in more goals than any other player for the club (15 - 10 goals and five assists).
Real Madrid 2-2 Club Brugge
- Real Madrid have gone at least two goals behind in a Champions League match without losing the game for the first time since December 2006 against Dynamo Kyiv (2-2).
- Club Brugge are unbeaten in six Champions League matches (W1 D5), having lost eight in a row before this run.
- Real Madrid have conceded 2+ goals in three consecutive home games in all European competitions for the first time in their history.
Man City 2-0 Dinamo Zagreb
- Manchester City have won five consecutive Champions League home matches for the very first time.
- Dinamo Zagreb have become the first ever side to lose 13 consecutive away matches in the Champions League.
- Manchester City completed 626 more passes than Dinamo Zagreb in this match (727-100), also accumulating 71 more touches in their opponent’s box (73-2).
- Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in 19 goals in his last 16 home appearances in the Champions League for Manchester City (11 goals, eight assists), scoring or assisting at least once in 12 of his last 13 such matches.
Juventus 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen
- The home side has won all three meetings between Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, with the Old Lady winning their two home games against the German side by a combined score of 7-0.
- Bayer Leverkusen failed to attempt a single shot on target in this match – this is the first time they have done so in a Champions League outing since Opta began recording this data in 2003-04, in what is their 48th game played in the competition in this time.
- Bayer Leverkusen have become the 33rd different club against which Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in the Champions League, equalling the record previously set by Raúl (also 33 sides).
Lokomotiv Moscow 0-2 Atletico Madrid
- This was Atlético de Madrid’s first away win in the Champions League by more than one goal since February 2017 when they beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2, and their biggest such win without conceding a goal in the competition since September 2015 when they also beat Galatasaray 2-0.
- Since their return to the competition in 2013-14, Atlético de Madrid have kept more clean sheets in the Champions League (35 in 64 games) than any other team.
- Aged 19 years and 325 days, João Félix became Atlético de Madrid's youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League, overtaking Sergio Agüero (20y 106d against PSV in September 2008).
Galatasaray 0-1 PSG
- Galatasary have failed to score in six of their last seven Champions League matches, as many times as in their previous 22 games combined.
- Mauro Icardi has now scored five goals in eight Champions League matches for PSG and parent club Inter Milan; all five of his goals have come when his side have been trailing or drawing.
- PSG coach Thomas Tuchel was shown a yellow card in the 39th minute, in the process becoming the first ever manager to be shown a card in the Champions League.
Crvena Zvezda 3-1 Olympiakos
- Crvena Zvezda have lost only once in their last 14 home matches in all European competition (W7 D6).
- Olympiakos are winless in their last 10 Champions League games (D2 L8) - their longest such run in the competition.
- Milos Vulic became the first substitute to score a Champions League goal for Crvena Zvezda, while Richmond Boakye later became the second to do so.
Atalanta 1-2 Shakhtar Donetsk
- Shakhtar Donetsk are without a clean sheet in their last 18 Champions League matches, conceding 37 goals – it is the longest current run without a shutout among the 32 teams competing this season.
- Since start of last season, Duvan Zupata has netted 34 goals for Atalanta – more than any other player has scored for a Serie A club in this period (all comps).
- Since his Champions League debut in the 2007/08 season, no goalkeeper has saved more penalties in the competition than Shakhtar’s Andriy Pyatov (5).
Genk 0-0 Napoli
- The match between KRC Genk and Napoli saw 31 shots attempted – the most in a UEFA Champions League game while ending goalless since Sevilla 0-0 Man Utd in February 2018.
- KRC Genk have not won any of their 14 matches in the UEFA Champions League (D8 L6) – no team has played more games without a victory in the history of the European Cup/Champions League (Floriana FC and Shamrock Rovers also 14).
- Napoli have failed to score in back-to-back away games in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history in the competition.
- Napoli are now without a win in their last seven away group stage UEFA Champions League games (W0 D3 L4); last picking up a victory in the 2016-17 edition, winning 2-1 versus Benfica in December 2016
- At 20 years and 303 days old, Genk’s Gaetan Coucke is the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet in a UEFA Champions League match since Maksym Koval in November 2012 for Dynamo Kiev against FC Porto (19 years, 333 days).
- Genk's line-up was an average age of 23 years & 148 days - the youngest in a UEFA Champions League game since CSKA Moscow v Roma in Oct 2018 (23y 92d).
Slavia Prague 0-2 Borussia Dortmund
- Borussia Dortmund have won five of their eight Champions League group stage games under Lucien Favre (W5 D2 L1).
- Slavia Prague are winless in seven Champions League matches (W0 D3 L4), failing to score in four of those.
- Borussia Dortmund have kept eight clean sheets in their last 11 European matches in the Europa League and Champions League combined (W5 D3 L3).
- Slavia Prague have won just four of their last 19 European home matches (excluding qualifying games), losing each of their last two.
- Achraf Hakimi (20y 332d) became the fourth player aged under-21 to score a Champions League goal for Borussia Dortmund under Lucien Favre, after Christian Pulisic, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Jadon Sancho.
- Aged 20 years and 332 days, Borussia Dortmund’s Achraf Hakimi became the youngest player to score an away Champions League brace since Kylian Mbappé (18y 113d) in April 2017 for Monaco away at Borussia Dortmund themselves.
Barcelona 2-1 Inter Milan
- Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 33 home UEFA Champions League matches (W30 D3 L0), with that run featuring two wins over Internazionale.
- Internazionale have lost three consecutive away UEFA Champions League matches for the first time, with two of those three defeats away at Camp Nou against Barcelona.
- When starting, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has either scored or assisted in each of his last 13 UEFA Champions League group stage matches at Camp Nou for Barcelona (22 goals, 7 assists).
- Internazionale scored inside two minutes of a UEFA Champions League match (1:59) for the first time since Dejan Stankovic scored after 26 seconds against FC Schalke 04 in April 2011.
- Luis Suárez scored his first UEFA Champions League group stage goals since September 2016, when he scored twice against Celtic, ending a run of 15 games at this stage without a goal for Barcelona.
- Lautaro Martínez’s goal for Internazionale after 119 seconds was the fastest conceded by Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League since September 2011, when Alexandre Pato scored after 24 seconds for Milan at Camp Nou.
RB Leipzig 0-2 Lyon
- Lyon have ended a run of eight Champions League matches without a victory – a run in which they drew seven games (L1).
- RB Leipzig’s last seven matches in the Champions League have now alternated between a defeat and a victory.
- Lyon have scored at least once in each of their last seven away games in the Champions League (11 goals), last failing to score in September 2016 against Sevilla.
- RB Leipzig have failed to score on home soil in a UEFA European competition for just the second time in the 10 such games in the club’s history.
- Since the start of last season, Houssem Aouar has provided four assists in the UEFA Champions League for Lyon; no OL player has assisted more goals in the competition during this period (Memphis also 4).
- Memphis Depay’s goal for Lyon in the 11th minute of their Champions League match against RB Leipzig is the earliest goal the team has scored in the competition since Jordan Ferri’s goal against KAA Gent in November 2015 in the 7th minute.
Valencia 0-3 Ajax
- Valencia suffered their heaviest home defeat in the Champions League since October 2004, when they were beaten 5-1 by Inter Milan.
- Ajax have won each of their last two Champions League away games against Spanish opposition (v Real Madrid in March and Valencia tonight), as many as they had in their previous nine attempts (W2 D1 L6).
- Valencia have failed to win their opening two games of a Champions League campaign for the first time since 2006-07 (under Quique Sánchez Flores).
- Quincy Promes has scored in each of his first two Champions League appearances for Ajax; the first player to do so for the club since Rafael Van der Vaart in the 2002-03 campaign.
- Donny van de Beek has been directly involved in four goals in his last four Champions League appearances for Ajax (three goals and one assist), including both a goal and an assist in this victory at Mestalla.
- Valencia’s Dani Parejo is the only player to have missed multiple penalties since the start of last season in the Champions League; failing to convert both of his spot kicks in this period (v Juventus in 2018-19 and Ajax this season).
Zenit 3-1 Benfica
- There has never been a draw in seven meetings between Zenit St Petersburg and Benfica, with Zenit having won four of those.
- Three of Benfica’s last four own goals in the Champions League have come against Russian opposition; Zenit St Petersburg, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow.
- Zenit St Petersburg have scored at least once in each of their last 24 home games in UEFA European competitions (52 goals), last failing to score at home in a match against Monaco in October 2014.
- Benfica have scored in back-to-back away games in the Champions League after they scored in just one of their previous six such matches.
- Magomed Ozdoev is the first Zenit St Petersburg players to assist two goals in a home match in the Champions League since Oleg Shatov did so against Lyon in October 2015.
- Artem Dzyuba has been involved in ten goals in ten UEFA Champions League matches for Zenit St Petersburg (7 goals, 3 assists).
