Cardiff City host Wolves in a Sky Bet Championship blockbuster on Friday night that will play a pivotal role in deciding who will take the title.

Wolves sit six-points clear at the top, and victory would surely give them enough of a gap with just five games remaining.

For Cardiff, victory here closes the gap to three, and when you factor in their game in-hand over Wolves, could throw them firmly into title contention.

Neil Warnock's Bluebirds are having a terrific season that sees them as unlikely automatic promotion contenders, they haven't left the top four all-season long.

They face the challenge of Fulham, who are five points behind them, and will no doubt be hoping Wolves can do them a favour with victory.

Despite being described by many as one of the most entertaining sides to have played in the Championship, Wolves face an uphill task as Cardiff are enjoying a seven-game winning streak in the league at home.

The leaders have also had a tough time on the road recently, securing just two victories in their last five away games.

Wolves do welcome Ruben Neves and Matt Doherty back to the squad, after they missed the draw with Hull City following red cards in the Good Friday win over Middlesbrough.

Cardiff secured victory over Wolves when these two met at the Molineux back in August, Joe Ralls and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing were on-target for Warnock's men in a 2-1 victory.

There is potential for more goals in this one, with Cardiff's last five games seeing both teams scoring and four of Wolves' last five having the same.

Both teams to score can be found at even-money, with over 2.5 goals available at 27/20.

This one is, understandably, a difficult one to call given how well both of these sides are going.

I'm leaning towards a Cardiff win given their recent home form and the fact that they know three points can throw them back into the title race as well as pushing them clear of Fulham in third.

Cardiff are available at 9/4, and the bookies have Wolves as the favourites despite the strong home record of the Bluebirds. For that price, Cardiff would be my best bet to secure victory and take the title race down to the wire.

Score prediction: Cardiff 2-1 Wolves (Sky Bet odds: 10/1)

Best bet: Cardiff City to win at 9/4

Alternative bet: Over 2.5 goals at 27/20
