Super Sunday gets underway in Wales as Cardiff take on Arsenal. Tom Carnduff has found two best bets for the match.
Unai Emery managed to wrap up his first victory as Arsenal boss when they secured a 3-1 win over West Ham last time out, and they’re more than equipped to make it two here.
They travel to face a Cardiff side who have had a poor start to the season. They may have two points on their tally, but they are still waiting for their first goal on their return to the Premier League.
With just two goals conceded, you can’t imagine the Bluebirds will be the top-flights great entertainers, but Arsenal’s presence in front of goal should see them breakdown a resilient opposition defence.
The hosts are rightly the 5/1 outsiders despite playing in front of their own fans, whilst the Gunners’ odds-on 4/7 price seems fair enough on balance.
Neil Warnock will want his side to try and frustrate the opposition, to try and disrupt their style of play whilst hitting them on the counter.
With Anthony Taylor in charge, a referee not afraid to show a card after six yellows in Watford’s win over Palace last weekend, booking points could be an avenue to explore.
Betting guide
Score prediction: Cardiff 0-2 Arsenal (Sky Bet odds: 7/1)
Best bet: Harry Arter to be carded at 5/2
With Arsenal expected to be on the front foot, Cardiff could find themselves committing fouls as they look to make the afternoon as uncomfortable as possible for Emery’s men. Arter has already been carded twice this season, and his role in midfield will see him involved in the heart of the battle.
Goalscorer bet: Nacho Monreal at 15/2
He may play as a left-back in this Arsenal team, but he is a player with an eye for goal and he struck in that 3-1 win over West Ham. His six goals last season also highlights how he is someone with attacking intent, and the 15/2 price looks too high given the fact that Arsenal are expected to see more of the goalscoring opportunities.
RequestABet: Arsenal to score 2+ goals, 7+ match corners and 30+ match booking pts at 5/4
A shorter priced one given the bigger prices on offer above, but this looks a bit of a banker despite having three factors involved. Arsenal should find the net, and alongside that Cardiff’s defence should end up deflecting balls behind as they look to stop them getting through. Cards seem inevitable here too, so 30+ should be hit with the referee involved.
