Dave Chisnall is the star name in action on the PDC Home Tour tonight but can he reach the semi-finals? Check out our preview, stats and betting tips.
Sky Bet odds to top group: Dave Chisnall 5/6, Damon Heta 9/4, Darren Webster 5/1, Geert Nentjes 10/1
Dave Chisnall was my original, albeit tentative, pre-tournament tip at 20/1 before a dart was thrown but he impressed enough on his first outing for me to make a more solid case prior to the second stage.
He looked as comfortable as you'd expect away from the crowds in his purpose built darts cabin in Morecambe, and of all the kind of rooms we've seen, I think a set up like his tends to be more conducive to better form.
One of his opponents on night three, Jonathan Worsley, quipped that his was a better darts cabin than Chizzy - and also the best in the world - but that didn't prevent him losing 5-1!
Both players averaged in the 70s but by that point Chisnall had virtually done enough thanks to impressive 5-2 and 5-0 victories over Scott Waites and Jan Dekker, averaging around 100 for both.
He's been practicing online darts pretty hard during lockdown and I'm confident he can progress with three more wins.
Damon Heta will again be playing at around 3am but last time all he needed was "four coffees and a Berocca!" to wake him up enough to top a group with John Henderson, who he beat along the way.
Last year's shock Brisbane Darts Masters champion only managed to average over 90 once, which is understandable, and I just wonder how he'll handle more body clock issues.
For those looking to oppose Chizzy, then Darren Webster may seem an attractive proposition at 5/1 but of his three challengers, Geert Nentjes performed best in the first stage.
He averaged over 100 in a high-quality showdown with Mickey Mansell before two marks in the mid 90s helped him defeat both Lisa Ashton and Ross Smith.
The 21-year-old has a bright future in the sport and has adapted quickly to this new format
DAVE CHISNALL
Topped Group 3 (Report)
Chizzy produced two of the better performances we saw during the first group stage and although his third was poor, that's all that was required in the circumstances.
DARREN WEBSTER
Topped Group 15 (Report)
Darren Webster was regarded as quite a flaky favourite before this group considering what we'd seen on previous nights but three solid displays helped him get over the line with maximum points.
DAMON HETA
Topped Group 17 (Report)
You can forgive Damon Heta for only managing one average above 90 given that he was playing at 3am in the morning, and John Henderson will still be kicking himself. The Aussie poorest game rounded off the night but by that point it didn't matter.
GEERT NENTJES
Topped Group 4 (Report)
After edging a high-quality clash with Mickey Mansell thanks to just the fourth 100+ average of the tournament at that point, Geert Nentjes maintained a decent level of darts to see off Lisa Ashton and Ross Smith.
