Defending champion Gary Anderson suffered a shock first-round exit in the Auckland Darts Masters on Friday.

The Flying Scotsman was beaten 6-4 by Kyle Anderson, who secured his place in Saturday's quarter-finals where he will face fellow-Aussie Simon Whitlock.

Sky Bet can't separate the pair in the latest betting pricing them up at 5/6 to reach the semi-finals.

Peter Wright is also out, losing 6-4 to Australian Corey Cadby.

But recently crowned World Matchplay champion Phil Taylor is through after beating Darren Herewini 6-4.

'The Power' now meets Raymond van Barneveld in the last eight after the Dutchman saw off Warren Parry by the same margin. Sky Bet make Taylor the 4/9 favourite to progress with Barney a 13/8 shot.
