Yorkshire's excellent four-day performances in the last decade haven't been transferred to the shorter formats and although making the quarter-finals of this competition last year, it would appear that the main focus for the White Rose remains the County Championship.

For Durham, a return to the Division One of the County Championship remains a priority but they are always a dangerous one-day side, as demonstrated by their defeat of eventual winners Nottinghamshire in a thrilling contest in the group stages of this tournament at Trent Bridge last year.

Durham also pushed Yorkshire very hard when they met at Headingley just over a year ago, a magnificent 174 from Jonny Bairstow ultimately proving the difference between the two sides as the Tykes chased down 336.

The hosts have been boosted by the recent arrival of New Zealand international Tom Latham, an excellent cricketer who impressed in the recent ODI series against England.

Latham will be part of a batting line up that consists of the evergreen Paul Colingwood, Stuart Poynter and Micheal Richardson.

Richardson has been in excellent form so far this season and enjoyed a terrific run in this competition in 2017, making 424 runs at an average of 70.66.

The admirable Chris Rushworth remains big threat with the ball, even in this form of the game, and new signing Natham Rimmington will be huge asset at the death with his bag of tricks and clever variations.

Yorkshire welcome back Adil Rashid following his decision to concentrate solely on white-ball cricket this term.

His battle with Latham could go a long way to deciding the outcome of this match with the Kiwi always a very good player of spin, especially when bringing out his sweep shot.

While the visitors will be buoyed by the return of Rashid, they will be without captain Gary Ballance, Joe Root and Bairstow for the trip north.

With overseas signing Cheteshwar Pujara struggling badly in the early part of the season, and Adam Lyth also failing to fire like he can, Yorkshire's batting does look susceptible, especially if Rushworth is able to make inroads with the new ball.

Yorkshire have started to County Championship in somewhat puzzling fashion, brilliant victories over Nottinghamshire and Essex marred by heavy defeats at the hands of Somerset and Surrey.

There is no doubt the talent is there, but stringing together a consistent run of performances is a real challenge for Andrew Gale's men and quotes of 8/13 for this clash make little appeal, particularly with the absences of Jack Brooks and Matthew Fisher leaving their attack heavily reliant on the returning Ben Coad.

With plenty of questions marks surrounding Yorkshire, and Durham always capable of punching above their weight, the latter look worth siding with at 6/4 to make full use of their home advantage.
