Match report
Jadhav struck five sixes to drag RCB - still without AB de Villiers (back) and Virat Kohli (shoulder) - up to a modest 157-8, a total they defended despite a gallant 57 off 36 balls by Rishabh Pant.
The hosts suffered a major setback after opting to bat with the early departure of Chris Gayle, who chalked off just six of the 31 runs he needed to become the first man to 10,000 T20 runs before splicing a Chris Morris full toss to mid-of
When stand-in Shane Watson was undone by some extra bounce from Shabaz Nadeem and stumped for 24 off as many balls, the home side was struggling on 55-3 - number three Mandeep Singh having already been and gone, bowled off the inside edge by Pat Cummins (12).
RCB were close to stalling as Nadeem mixed his pace well to finish with 1-13 from his four overs.
Amit Mishra could not tighten Delhi's grip, though, as Jadav went on the offensive, pillaging 24 off one over from the spinner before stepping outside leg to smash Carlos Brathwaite in dismissive fashion over the covers for six.
A couple took Jadav to his half-century off just 26 balls and Brathwaite remained in the firing line, disappearing for another six over long off after Stuart Binny (16) had picked out Sam Billings in the deep off Zaheer Khan.
It took a moment of brilliance to end Jadav's onslaught - Delhi skipper Zaheer doubling his tally with a superb slower ball that the batsman could only sky to Morris as he looked to blast another boundary down the ground.
Morris and Cummins ensured there was no late flurry from the hosts, conceding just 16 runs off the final three overs, with the South African seamer bowling Pawan Negi and Tymal Mills in the final over to finish with 3-21.
In reply, Aditya Tare put on 33 for the first wicket with Billings (25 off 19) before losing his off-stump to Mills' fourth delivery.
Billy Stanlake cleaned out Karun Nair with one that came back to hit off stump and Billings sliced Iqbal Abdulla to backward point shortly after reverse sweeping Chahal for six, to leave the chase wobbling at 55-3.
Delhi had just about doubled that score by the time they lost three more wickets - Pant powerless at the other end as Sanju Samson, Chris Morris and Carlos Brathwaite failed to make an impression.
Pant provided the ballast needed after boldly advancing to hit his first ball from Abdullah for six, more than keeping his side in the hunt with a 33-ball fifty.
But with 21 needed off 12 balls, Watson conceded just two runs to effectively seal the match - Negi wrapping matters up by bowling Pant leg stump with the first ball of the 20th over.
