Mayweather v McGregor: Fight week schedule including final press conference, weigh-in, ringwalks & main event

The waiting is almost over as boxing king Floyd Mayweather puts his unbeaten record - and pride - on the line against UFC star Conor McGregor in Saturday night's blockbuster fight in Las Vegas.

It's the week all fight fans have been waiting for ever since this intensely hyped fight was finally confirmed back in May.

We've enjoyed - or endured depending on your outlook - extravagant press conferences around the world, trash talking, stare downs, open workouts, 'leaked' sparring videos and no shortage of predictions shared by the rich and famous as the build-up to this most unique of cross-over fights quickly gathered pace.

And now there's just days left before it all reaches a crescendo with the main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Before then we can expect more histrionics and showmanship from both motormouths at their 'grand arrivals', the final press conference, weigh-ins and, of course, the ringwalks.

But after all that, the world will finally see if a boxing novice can indeed upset the odds and achieve a feat no professional has managed in 21 years and beat Floyd Mayweather, who is intent on retiring with a perfect 50-0 record. And then the talking can begin again.

Here's the full fight week schedule...

Tuesday August 22: The Grand Arrivals

2100 BST (1300 local time) - The undercard fighters, including Wales' WBA light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly, warm up the crowd as they post for photos outside the Toshiba Plaza in front of T-Mobile Arena

2130 BST - All eyes will be on Conor McGregor and what he's wearing as he makes what's bound to be a showboating entrance to delight his army of Irish and UFC supporters.

2200 BST - Unless he keeps the crowd waiting, Floyd Mayweather will make his final ever official entrance before his third retirement.

2230 BST to 0030 BST - Fight fans will then be treated to open undercard workouts featuring Nathan Cleverly, Gervonta Davis, Badou Jack and Savannah Marshall.

Thursday August 24: Undercard press conference

1900 BST onwards - It may not be the highlight of the week, but even so we can expect fiery exchanges between those on the undercard as they look to build up the interest in their fights.

From a British point of view, Wales' Nathan Cleverly will be talking up his chances a he bids to defend his WBA world light-heavyweight title against Badou Jack while Middlesbrough's two-time Olympian Savannah Marshall is preparing for her pro debut. The other title fight on the main bill is Gervonta Davis making the second defence of his IBF super-featherweight strap against Francisco Fonseca.

Friday August 25: The Weigh-in

1930 BST - The weigh-in 'show' in front of a packed crowd at the T-Mobile Arena will consist of a variety of musical performances although the acts have yet to be confirmed. We can obviously expect some high-profiles ones no doubt.

2300 BST - Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will hit the scales, stare down for the final time before the big fight and also give yet more interviews to the media scrum. You can find out more about the weigh-in and how to watch it by clicking here.

Saturday August 26: Fight night

2200 BST - The doors open for the lucky ticket holders although the celebrities will probably rock up fashionably much later.

0000 BST - The preliminary fights on the undercard will get the action started but if you're only interested in the main event or looking forward to more hours of hype, we'd recommend setting your alarm clock for around 0400 BST because otherwise it will be long night.

0200 BST - The main undercard, featuring Nathan Cleverly v Badou Jack and Gervonta Davis v Francisco Fonseca, will begin.

0400-0500 BST - Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor won't make their ringwalks any earlier than this although it could be later on course. Click here for more information on the big fight night including details on where to watch it, how to book and the cost!
