Boxing betting tips: Preview of Chris Eubank Jr v Arthur Abraham & Lee Selby v Jonathan Victor Barros

Our boxing tipster Simon Crawford is predicting wins on the cards for British duo Chris Eubank Jr and Lee Selby in London this weekend.

Recommended bets: Weekend boxing

2pts double on Chris Eubank Jr and Lee Selby to win by decision or technical decision at 1.71/1 - both heavy favourites to win their respective fights but tough opponents should see both taken the distance

While many have been quick to knock Chris Eubank Jr's win over little-known Renold Quinlan to win the IBO's world super-middleweight title back in February, there can be no dispute that he faces a very genuine test of his credentials this weekend when he takes on Arthur Abraham.

The 27-year-old (24-1, 19KOs) surprised many by leaving the middeweight division - where he was reigning British and interim WBA world champion - to move up to 168lbs.

Australian Quinlan was halted inside 10 rounds as Eubank showed at times that he was capable of taking his power up the weights, but he will be surely tested by 37-year-old Armenian-born, German-based Abraham.

A former three-time, two-weight world champion, Abraham (46-5, 30KOs) will be looking to make it 'six of the best' against British fighters having previously beaten Paul Smith (twice), Martin Murray, Wayne Elcock and Howard Eastman in his long and stellar career.

Just how much Abraham has left in the tank is the key to this fight.

After losing his WBO world title on a points decision to Gilberto Ramirez in April of last year, he has bounced back with wins over Tim Robin Lihaug (TKO 8) and Robin Krasniqi (points).

He was certainly given problems by Liverpool's Smith in their first meeting where the cards did not do justice to the work done by the spirited Scouser almost three years ago.

A rematch was ordered but second time round Abraham was thoroughly dominant and deservedly won by a big margin.

Eubank has suffered just one loss and that came at the hands of current world champion Billy Joe Saunders.

Apart from that one blot on his copybook, everything else has gone pretty much according to plan ... at least inside the ring.

Outside of it, controversial Team Eubank appear to do themselves few favours at times and seemingly pulling out of a fight with middleweight king Gennady Golovkin brought widespread condemnation.

But Eubank does impress in the ring and sells tickets.

He throws power punches with both hands, has a decent defence and is no stranger to a spot of showboating just like his father, Chris Sr.

However, this is arguably the biggest test of his career and Eubank simply can't afford to take any liberties with a man of Abraham's experience.

But ultimately I feel the younger man will prevail on this occasion.

If Eubank lands consistently with his big shots, especially to the body, then he can slow the challenger down and while I would be surprised if he became only the second man to halt Abraham, I think he can do enough to win with plenty to spare on the cards.

That is a best of 3/4 with sportingbet, admittedly not the most appealing price, so I am recommending a double with Welshman Lee Selby who is also on the Wembley Arena card.

Selby makes the third defence of his IBF world featherweight title against Argentinean Jonathan Victor Barros.

The two had been due to meet in Las Vegas back in January, only for Barros to pull out at the weigh-in due to a mix-up over medical certificates.

The 33-year-old Barros (41-4-1, 22KOs) is a former WBA world champion and will bring with him all that grit and spirit we have come to expect from South American fighters.

As well as wanting to hold onto his title, Selby should have plenty of motivation with potential fights against the likes of Leo Santa Cruz, plus domestic rivals Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg in the offing.

Barros will come keep coming forward and that should suit the slick skills of stylist Selby who will look to pick him off on the counter with his rangy jabs and hooks thrown from unorthodox angles.

As with Eubank, he should be a comfortable winner on the cards which is a general best of 8/15.

My recommendation is to pair them up in a double which pays around 17/10.
