Watch amazing UK Championship snooker shot by Mark Selby

Mark Selby fired a 'shot of the tournament' contender on his way to victory over Barry Hawkins in round four of the UK Championship in Milton Keynes.

The 37-year-old saw off Hawkins 6-3, with his standout moment coming in just frame three with the game locked at 1-1.

"If you asked me to play that shot again I probably wouldn't be able to play it," joked Selby speaking on Eurosport after his win.

"The cushions were playing soft and slow, so I wanted to come high off the blue to try and get in the middle of those reds. It is probably a one in 20, one in 25, shot."

Selby will face Neil Robertson in the quarter-finals as the Leicester man looks to add a third UK Championship title to CV and he is in confident mood for achieving just that.

"Neil is a great lad, we lived together for six months in Leicester when he first game on the circuit and I can tell you he is very lazy. But as a player he is one of the greats, and we enjoy our rivalry.

"You aren't going to be at your best every time and that's why you need a strong safety game. It is good to know I can relay on my 'B' game when I need too and that gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of this tournament."
