Ronnie O'Sullivan wins English Open - 100/1 for £1m Home Nations bonus

Ronnie O'Sullivan thrashed Kyren Wilson 9-2 to land the English Open title in Barnsley and is now 100/1 to win all four Home Nations Series events and pocket a £1m bonus.

O'Sullivan sealed victory thanks to breaks of 127 and 132 in the final two frames that saw him rack up his 29th ranking title.

The 41-year-old, who had a pot success rate of 98 per cent, won the last six frames to turn a 3-2 lead into a resounding victory.

He finished the match with four centuries as well as breaks of 96, 87 and 77.

O'Sullivan stands a chance of landing the £1million bonus on offer if the can go on and claim all the other Home Nations events in Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff - Sky Bet make him 100/1 to do so, while he's 5/1 to win the UK Championship in York.

"It is great to win another ranking title. I am my own worst critic at times but it was very, very good today," said O'Sullivan on worldsnooker.com.

"I made a lot of good and important breaks, and felt good among the balls. I will keep driving myself on to reach a higher level.

"I am enjoying the challenge of hanging in there against these young players, but you play well if you have to – and I know what a good player Kyren is."

Asked about the £1million bonus, O’Sullivan added: "Listen, it is another 21 matches and it is do-able. Anything is possible but over these short matches that are best-of-seven frames, it will be very tough."
