Warrington's Tom Lineham charged with striking

Warrington winger Tom Lineham could face a three-match ban after being charged with striking.

Lineham was sin-binned in the 55th minute of Warrington's Super League defeat at Leigh on Thursday for using his elbow on opposite number Adam Higson.

The Rugby Football League's match review panel charged Lineham with a grade C offence, which carries a ban of two to three matches.

Lineham has the option of accepting a two-match ban through an early guilty plea or disputing the charge at a disciplinary hearing in Leeds on Tuesday.

Leigh's win, which extended Warrington's losing start to the season to five games, could come at a cost after back-rower Glenn Stewart was charged with a grade C high tackle.

The former Australia international was sent to the sin bin six minutes into the second half for a challenge that forced Wolves half-back Kevin Brown out of the rest of the match.

Stewart also has the option of an early guilty plea that would result in a two-match suspension.

Wakefield captain Danny Kirmond could be banned for one match after he was charged with a grade A high tackle on Rob Burrow in Friday's 38-14 defeat at Leeds.

Kirmond, who was sin-binned by referee Jack Smith, does not have the option of an early guilty plea.
