Salford head coach Ian Watson said: "Tim (Sheens) is really smart. He has observed us for over 12 months and knows what we can do in terms of our standards and performance but we also know a lot about him, so it will be an interesting game from that point of view.
"They'll be coming here to make a statement that they are a Super League team, not a Championship side."
Meanwhile, Hull KR have been boosted by the return of first team trio Thomas Minns, Nick Scruton and Josh Johnson for the clash. They replace youngsters Joe Cator, Brad Clavering and Joe Wardill in the squad.
Hull KR coach Tim Sheens said: "We know it's going to be tough and on paper this is a step up from our game against Leigh a few weeks ago.
"I think there's plenty of belief in our side already that we can go to Salford and win but we have a lot of respect for them and what they've done this year.

Castleford Tigers v St Helens
Date: Saturday, May 13
Kick-off time: 1430 BST
TV Channel: BBC One
Venue: Mend-A-Hose Jungle
Sky Bet odds: Castleford 1/3, St Helens 9/4
PRICE BOOST: Hardaker, Minikin & Eden all to score a try at 7/1 from 11/2
Castleford are boosted by the return of their trio of internationals, Zak Hardaker, Luke Gale and Mike McMeeken, who all played important roles in England's win over Samoa last weekend, but they have injury doubts over stand-off pair Ben Roberts and Rangi Chase.
Castleford coach Datyl Powell said: "Benny Roberts obviously didn't play last week with his groin injury and with Rangi we have to check after he hurt his neck.
"I expect at least one of them to be right but it will probably be Friday morning before we know.
"But the England guys have come back okay so we don't look too badly off. They did themselves and the club really proud and they will be slotting back into the team.
"I thought Mike McMeeken was really strong at the start and I thought Zak looked sharp and Luke Gale was very prominent throughout."
St Helens, still waiting for the arrival of new coach Justin Holbrook, will have England duo Alex Walmsley and Mark Percival back as they look to respond to a dismal 40-18 derby defeat by Warrington, where they let slip a 14-0 lead.
Caretaker coach Derek Traynor said: "We have to take confidence from what was our best performance of the season.
"We played well against Castleford at our place and know we can compete with them. Going to Castleford is probably the toughest ask in Super League at the moment but we know the ability we have.
"We just have to show it for 80 minutes on the day. We have been a Jekyll and Hyde team all season and the game on Friday summed up our year.
"You saw the really good side of us and the average side of us too. We were very disappointed after getting into the position we did to concede 30 unanswered points."
Castleford Tigers squad: Rangi Chase, Matt Cook, Greg Eden, Luke Gale, Zak Hardaker, Alex Foster, Andy Lynch, Nathan Massey, Mike McMeeken, Paul McShane, Grant Millington, Greg Minikin, Adam Milner, Junior Moors, Jesse Sene-Lefao, Ben Roberts, Gadwin Springer

Warrington Wolves v Widnes Vikings
Date: Sunday, May 14
Kick-off time: 1500 BST
TV Channel: BBC Two
Venue: Halliwell Jones Stadium
Sky Bet odds: Warrington 1/5, Widnes 7/2
Warrington are boosted by the return of their England trio ahead of their clash on Sunday.
Skipper Chris Hill is an England regular but both Stefan Ratchford, who was surprisingly chosen ahead of Zak Hardaker at full-back against Samoa in Sydney last Saturday, and Kevin Brown made the most of their late call-ups to strengthen their hopes of a World Cup trip.
"They're in good shape and in very good spirits," Warrington's former national coach Tony Smith said of his England men.
"They were complimentary of the camp. They said it was very well run and they got a lot out of it.
"It also boosted their confidence on a personal level. Stefan certainly put his best foot forward and I'm expecting him to get stronger and stronger. He's enhanced his chances of being a part of it and enhanced his chances of being full-back on that performance."
Kurt Gidley and Harvey Livett move positions to accommodate Ratchford and Brown, plugging the gaps created by the absence through injury of hooker Daryl Clark and centre Rhys Evans.
The Wolves beat Widnes 20-18 on their way to the final last year, and although the Vikings have no fewer than 12 senior players missing through injury, coach Denis Betts says his team are determined to cause a surprise.
"It's a massive game," Betts said. "You could say this is where our season hinges now.
"We still have a possibility of making the eight but the one chance we have of giving something to our supporters is the Challenge Cup. And what better way than starting against our biggest rivals.
"If you can't get up for this game then you're in the wrong game."
Sam Brooks, Greg Burke, Ted Chapelhow, Jordan Johnstone, Manase Manuokafoa, Lloyd Roby and Liam Walsh will come into the side.
Warrington Wolves squad: Ryan Atkins, Kevin Brown, Mike Cooper, Dominic Crosby, Brad Dwyer, Kurt Gidley, Chris Hill, Jack Hughes, Benjamin Jullien, George King, Tom Lineham, Harvey Livett, Declan Patton, Joe Philbin, Stefan Ratchford, Matty Russell, Ashton Sims, Morgan Smith, Ben Westwood
Widnes Vikings squad: Patrick Ah Van, Sam Brooks, Jack Buchanan, Greg Burke, Hep Cahill, Jay Chapelhow, Ted Chapelhow, Gil Dudson, Rhys Hanbury, Aaron Heremaia, Jordan Johnstone, Manase Manuokafoa, Joe Mellor, Eamon O’Carroll, Tom Olbison, Lloyd Roby, Charly Runciman, Danny Walker, Liam Walsh
