9/2

DESTINY IS ALL is not the most consistent but tends to run better at Ayr than elsewhere, with his lifetime record at the Scottish venue reading 22F112331, and he looked set to win when falling on the only occasion he failed to compete.

He was creditable third to Readysteadybeau in a handicap chase on his only outing at Ayr last season, in front of a next-time-out winner, and he made a winning return here in October, scoring by neck from Crixus's Escape.

Destiny Is All was well beaten at Newcastle in November but will be a bigger price than her ought to be with the blip on his card and better is expected back here.

Travail d’Orfevre is the one to beat on balance, but while he’s very consistent, he does seem tripless over fences and his record over the larger obstacles is one win in 15 starts, making him look beatable.

33/1

I fear we are going to be putting up a few all-weather selections this week, with the weather looking very likely to decimate the week's jumping program.

Wolverhampton's card tonight makes little appeal, in truth, but at 33/1 we can't resist a small each-way wager on EDEN STORM.

Formerly a C&D winner with Marco Botti, he's not shown a lot in three starts for Pat Morris this winter but it's looked very much an exercise in getting his mark down to date.

These conditions suit him well, and Morris is back in form, with a couple of winners in the past week, so now might be the time to give him a go.

Sky Bet's 28/1 four places makes some appeal, but as they are the only firm going four places, we'll make him a three-place bet for the column.
