Key races and best bets

LAC DE CONSTANCE - 13:35 Haydock

1
Lac De Constance34
Age: 9|  Weight: 12-0| J: Liam Harrison| T: D Skelton| OR:  127

A few of these arrive with a question mark against them so this looks a good opportunity for Dan Skelton's LAC DE CONSTANCE to take another step forward and capitalise on a lenient mark back over fences. Last year's victor Ned Tanner could emerge as the chief threat if recent wind surgery has a positive effect, while Grain d'Oudairies and Bowenspark also need factoring in.

ST IRENE - 14:20 Taunton

9
St Irene40
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: J M Quinlan| T: Nick Scholfield| OR:  116| D

A cracking listed hurdle and it could pay to side with ST IRENE who has appealed as a very good prospect since joining Nick Scholfield and rates the form pick on the back of her very stylish Wincanton success. Both Al Fonce and Anariza look to have better days ahead of them and seem sure to be on the premises, while Getawhisky, Lady Tadita and Great Dance all need considering too.

EGBERT - 15:05 Haydock

2
Egbertp290
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Jack Tudor| T: Christian Williams| OR:  130| C

Much will depend on if he's on a going day, but if he is EGBERT could be the answer. He enjoyed his finest hour to date when landing the Tommy Whittle here (sole previous visit to this course) last December and is just 3 lb above that winning mark on debut for the in-form Christian Williams yard. Whistle Stop has slipped to an attractive mark and he has to be considered, along with Wa Wa, for whom this marathon trip may prove ideal.
