Timeform Eyecatcher: Sunday

WIN SOME LOSE SOME

Fourth, 2½m handicap hurdle, Naas, Sunday 10 November

Win Some Lose Some is going the right way and shaped well in fourth in a good-quality and competitive event at Naas, producing his best performance yet on Timeform's figures and leaving the impression that he could do even better over further.

Win Some Lose Some was ridden leaving the back straight and never threatened to get on terms, but he stayed on well up the run-in to get to within three lengths of the winner, shaping like a step up to three miles would be in his favour.

He's won three of his six starts so far this season and may not have reached his limit.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Saturday

LINALENE

Third, 2m1f bumper, Aintree, Saturday 9 November

Most of these are bred for the Flat and the finish was more reminiscent of a race on the level as well, with little ground covering the front trio at the end of a neck-and-neck battle.

Linalene went like the best horse at the weights, starting favourite and displaying plenty of ability, but a big-race move from the rear took its toll in the closing stages.

He traded as low as 1.1 in-running on Betfair but had nothing left to give in the final 100 yards, and is sure to improve for this initial experience. Linalene should have no problem winning something similar, while he'll likely come into his own once sent jumping.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Friday

DANCING TEAPOT

Runner-up, 7f fillies' maiden, Dundalk, Friday 8 November

Dancing Teapot caught the eye on paper as a sister to French 2000 Guineas runner-up Dancing Gemini and she shaped well on debut.

Dancing Teapot couldn't quite get on terms with one of the joint-favourites Misappropriation who made all under a canny ride, but she impressed with the good late work she put in and only missed out by a head.

She's entitled to be sharper with this encouraging effort under her belt and she's well up to winning a similar event at Dundalk if kept on the go over the winter.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Thursday

ROYSSE

Runner-up, 2m novices' hurdle, Newbury, Thursday 7 November

Watch Race Replay

This wasn't pulse-racing stuff for a two mile novices' hurdle run on good ground, but it is hard not to think the well-backed Roysse isn't the best prospect in the field, and he's a horse to keep on the right side.

Roysse was unbeaten in points and built on the promise of his Rules debut when opening his account in a bumper at Newbury, running to a near-useful level and beating several next-time-out winners in the process.

He went like the best horse at the weights on his hurdling debut, too, going with plenty of zest and seemingly having the race in hand after three out - he traded as low as 1.05 in-running on Betfair - but he blew up on the run-in. Roysee seems sure to come on plenty for that effort and should have no problem winning a similar event.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Wednesday

THUNDERSTORM KATIE

Seventh, 5f handicap, Musselburgh, Wednesday 6 November

Thunderstorm Katie was slowly away and outpaced on her first start at five furlongs, but she made encouraging late headway, looking like she would benefit from a return to six or seven furlongs.

This was only Thunderstorm Katie's second start for Jim Goldie (previously with Brian Toomey) and she had also shaped well on her debut for the yard when fourth in a six-furlong handicap at Newcastle.

This three-year-old doesn't have many miles on the clock and remains capable of better for her new yard.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Tuesday

BEYOND YOUR DREAMS

Runner up, 2m maiden hurdle, Fairyhouse, Tuesday 5 November

Watch Race Replay

The third helps set something like the level on her fourth crack at hurdling and the well-ridden winning debutant wasn't anything out of the ordinary on the Flat, though the Beyond Your Dreams was rather better on the level and would have been the one making a successful start had she not conceded first run in a sprint finish.

Beyond Your Dreams was fairly useful on the Flat and should have made a winning start in this sphere, starting an odds-on favourite and finishing with loads of running left at the line.

She lost some momentum at the second-last, but got herself back into contention and the turn of foot she displayed on the run-in suggests she has plenty of ability, and she's sure to make amends soon, this run only scratching the surface of her ability.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Monday

DUBAI BEACH

Runner-up, 1m novice stakes, Kempton, Monday 4 November

Watch Race Replay

Fairly useful form by the pair who dominated both the betting and the race itself and, though it was the standard-setter who emerged on top, Dubai Beach looks the better prospect on this evidence.

Her inexperience counted against her on her debut over seven furlongs at Kempton 12 months earlier, while she was also left poorly placed that day, and she duly showed much improved form on her return to action.

Dubai Beach went with plenty of zest, travelling like the best horse at the weights until the lack of a recent run seemingly told in the latter stages, headed in the final 50 yards. She's likely to progress further still and looks a banker for a similar event next time.
