Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsAkkadian Thunder had shaped much better than the result when an unlucky-in-running eighth at Ascot on his penultimate start and he again ran with promise when third at Doncaster on Saturday.
Akkadian Thunder was patiently ridden, made good headway down the outside over two furlongs out and kept on well into third without being able to get into a challenging position.
He's enjoyed a good campaign for David O'Meara and could still be capable of better for a yard that excels in top-end handicaps.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsA deep back-end maiden that looks very much a race to keep on side in both the long and short term, the progressive favourite and a blue-blooded newcomer, Kaleido, both from major yards, coming clear of the remainder.
He was well backed and shaped with plenty of promise on his debut, fairing best of the many newcomers, making his effort under three furlongs out and staying on well to finish behind only another well-bred sort with the benefit of experience.
Kaleido will stay at least a mile and looks a banker for a similar race, while he also could be one to follow next season, bred in the purple after all.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsSuperbolt was arguably a shade flattered to get to within three-quarters of a length of the progressive winner who was able to take it easy on the run-in, but he still shaped well on his chasing debut and shouldn't be long in opening his account over fences.
Superbolt still had plenty to do leaving the back straight and a peck at the fourth last, when he was closing, didn't help his cause. He stayed on strongly, though, to go second before the last and he pulled nine and a half lengths clear of the third up the run-in.
This was only his second start for Nigel Twiston-Davies, and his first over fences, so he's entitled to build on this promising display.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsJohn & Thady Gosden’s newcomer Mudbir made plenty of appeal on paper, being a Kingman half-brother to last year’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes/Juddmonte International winner Mostahdaf among other very good winners in the Shadwell colours for the same stable.
Mudbir looks the part too, though was carrying condition for his debut, and shaped promisingly, just wanting for experience at a crucial stage. Travelling well, he was tracking the pace by halfway and ran green when first shaken up before keeping on inside the final furlong to take second late on, finishing two and a quarter lengths behind well-backed fellow newcomer Treble Tee.
This was a good first effort from this very well-bred colt and he seems sure to improve and win races.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsThe form of this Group 3 is only borderline useful, but it was taken by subsequent Group 1 scorer Content last season, and it looks another informative renewal, the first six coming from O'Brien yards with Aidan responsible for 4 of those.
Giselle was sent off a warm order and did well in the circumstances after being held up in a race where a progressive stablemate made most.
She was caught a bit further back than ideal and also suffered interference from Celtic Motif at contrasting ends of the race which resulted in her gaining a place following a stewards inquiry. Giselle is bred in the purple and remains one to be firmly interested in, time very much likely to tell that she's the best of these and perhaps by some way.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsThis looks solid form for the grade, Hobb's Delight a well-backed favourite, and he split a couple of last-time-out winners on his chase debut.
He had been a model of consistency since switched to handicaps over hurdles and he looked a natural switched to fences, jumping fine and he only just failed to get up on the line.
There should be more to come from him in this sphere, clearly a strong stayer, and he is a banker for a similar event next time even after a rise in the weights.
