The front-running winner finally took advantage of his slipping mark to see off Get With It, an interesting recent stable switcher, in a race where it probably paid to race handily.

Get With It has made a positive start for Dan Skelton. He had shaped well when seemingly finding the longer trip and lack of a recent run counting against him on his previous start at Uttoxeter, and at Worcester he also left the impression that he's on a good mark.

He was left poorly placed in relation to the winner who had the run of the race, but made good headway from the home turn to be never nearer than at the line. It surely won't be long until he is able to take advantage of this sort of mark.

Spanish Blaze was only fifth when sent off favourite at Sandown but he shaped as if still in form in a race that didn't develop in his favour.

Spanish Blaze was held up but the race was run at just a modest gallop which meant he was caught further back than ideal when the tempo lifted.

He was unable to land a blow but he kept on in encouraging fashion to be beaten only two and three-quarter lengths, showing enough to suggest that he can prove more competitive under more favourable circumstances.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Friday

TYCOON

A maiden confined to newcomers previously, and seven of the 10 held that status this time, a trio of them from good yards taking the places after a couple of those that had shown promise dictated in a steadily-run race.

The John & Thady Gosden-trained Tycoon looks the horse to take out of the race, a well-bred sort who looked strong physically, though did appear to be carry conditions, and he left the impression he would come on a great deal for the experience mentally, too.

Tycoon was slowly away, but ran a race full of promise, catching the eye with his finishing effort, coming from further back than ideal but doing all of his best work in the latter stages, and he finished with running left. He will stay a mile and is the type who will improve significantly next time.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Thursday

Irish Nectar signed off last season with back-to-back wins on heavy ground and he underlined his effectiveness on testing ground when returning to form at Carlisle on Thursday.

Irish Nectar failed to make an impact on his first three starts this season but, faced with more suitable conditions, he shaped well in fourth at Carlisle, impressing with how smoothly he travelled.

He's dropped back to a competitive mark - he's only 2 lb above the mark he defied at York last season - and he will be one to watch out for in the back-end of the campaign when conditions should be in his favour.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Wednesday

PRINCE OF THE SEAS

A test of speed but a trio from top yards still managed to pull clear, the favourite putting his experience to good use, and Prince of The Seas shaping with plenty of promise on debut in a race which traditionally throws up useful prospects.

Ralph Beckett has unleashed plenty of promising sorts in recent weeks and he looks another, displaying signs of inexperience and having to be pushed along three furlongs out, but running on well in the closing stages without being unduly punished.

Prince of The Seas is from a smart middle-distance family and he looks a sure-fire improver with this experience under his belt, well up to winning something similar next time.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Tuesday

PSYCHE

Third, 2m handicap, Lingfield, Tuesday 27 August

An amateurs' event in which little of any note happened until the latter stages, by which time Ship To Shore had slipped the field, though the one to take from the race is Psyche who - with stronger handling - would have finished at least one place closer.

Psyche has been given a chance by the handicapper returning from 21 months off and very much caught the eye under tender handling, which was his rider's first in public, taking a strong hold before making good headway out wide around four furlongs out, then keeping on well in the closing stages under a hands-and-heels ride.

He's presumably had some physical issues given the lengthy absence, but will be one to look out for in something similar with this comeback under his belt.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Monday

WALEYFA

Waleyfa had capitalised on a falling mark when making a successful stable debut for the Kublers at Brighton last week and she ran to a similar level when only narrowly denied under a penalty at Southwell on Monday.

Waleyfa took a strong hold and was short of room early in the straight which required her to be switched off heels. She picked up well, though, and quickened through a gap to hit the front entering the final furlong, and she was only headed close home by one who had enjoyed a clearer passage and was challenging on a different part of the track.

It's still early days for Waleyfa since she joined the Kublers and she could still have a bit more to offer for this excellent yard, which is enjoying its best season yet, if settling better than she did at Southwell.
