Timeform Eyecatcher: Sunday

MYMOMENTINTIME

Third, 5f handicap, Naas, Sunday 25 August

Mymomentintime had fallen a long way in the weights after disappointing on his first few starts this season but, following an 11-week break, he shaped well when third at Naas on Sunday.

The stand side proved the place to be and six of the first seven home raced in that group, with Mymomentintime faring comfortably best of those who initially raced towards the far side.

He can have his effort upgraded as a consequence and, given he competed off a mark just 1 lb higher than the one he comfortably defied a couple of seasons ago, he is one to be interested in now that he's back in form.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Saturday

APOLLO ONE

Eighth, 6f handicap, York, Saturday 24 August

Apollo One missed out on a place in handicap company for the first time this year but he shaped much better than the bare result and as if still at the top of his game.

Apollo One showed his usual speed and enthusiasm but was scuppered by his high draw in a race in which the first seven home all broke from a single-figure stall.

He fared best of those who raced in the centre group, however, and is likely to remain competitive in top-end sprint handicaps when circumstances are more favourable.

REALIGN

Third, 7f maiden, York, 24 August

The Convivial is the most valuable maiden in the calendar and this year's renewal looks a strong one, the market leaders all coming to the fore and all holding pattern-race entries.

Realign, who cost a hefty €550,000 at the breeze-ups earlier this year, is a taking sort and built on the promise of his debut run, taking a keen hold in the early stages and looming up two furlongs out.

He was shaken up soon after but displayed signs of inexperience and seemingly failed to see out the trip in third. Realign remains a bright prospect and is one to look out for next time, especially if back at six furlongs.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Thursday

ELIM

Fourth, 7f fillies' handicap, York, Thursday 22 August

Elim was much higher in the weights than when last seen in a handicap having finished third in listed company at Pontefract last month, but she shaped as if still on a fair mark at York on Thursday.

Elim, who was beaten less than half a length in fourth, came from further off the pace than the other three fillies who made the frame and she did well to make up so much ground in the final furlong after conceding first run.

She was the only four-year-old involved in a finish otherwise dominated by three-year-olds, and, still lightly raced for her age, she remains one to be interested in.

DIVINE COMEDY

Fifth, 2m handicap, York, Wednesday 21 August

An interesting renewal of this valuable staying handicap and it ended up a one-two for Ireland but not in the order the market anticipated.

Several caught the eye in behind, too, notably Divine Comedy, who left the impression she would have been suited by an extra emphasis on stamina.

Divine Comedy had run a cracker to finish runner-up in the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot on her previous start nine weeks earlier, and given how she was outpaced when the tempo lifted here, she is more than ready for a return to a similar trip. It is worth noting that she will head into the autumn fresher than most, and she'd be a most interesting runner in the Cesarewitch, particularly if underfoot conditions were on the testing side.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Tuesday

MAKE LOVE

Fourth, 7f nursery, Wolverhampton, Tuesday 20 August

The pair that pulled clear of the remainder in this nursery produced fairly useful efforts, but Make Love, who finished further back in fourth, looks the horse to take out of the race.

She progressed gradually in her first three starts and, though she wasn't strong in the market on her all-weather and handicap debut, she shaped well and left the impression this race didn't get to the bottom of her.

Make Love took a keen hold racing in midfield, shaken up in the straight and stayed on gradually in the closing stages without posing a threat to the principals. She left the impression she would have been suited by a stronger gallop and is one to be interested in for a similar event next time.

Timeform Eyecatcher: Monday

BACK IN BLACK

Won, 7f maiden, Yarmouth, Monday 19 August

Watch Race Replay

Back In Black, who had shown promise when runner-up on both starts, didn't need to improve to get off the mark but he still did well under the circumstances.

Back In Black travelled well but clipped heels with the horse in front of him and stumbled badly two furlongs out. He recovered well, though, and quickened up nicely to lead half a furlong out and win cosily by a length.

He's clearly well regarded as he holds Group entries but nurseries are likely to be a more realistic option and his strong-travelling style should be an asset in those type of races.
