Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsGet Up Mush was fortunate to be awarded the race outright on the basis of interference, but he shaped like the best horse at the weights in any case, doing well to make up the ground to force an initial dead-heat.
Get Up Mush travelled well under a patient ride but still had plenty to do turning for home and had yet to be asked for his effort when hampered at the usual fourth last. He was still a couple of lengths down at the last but kept on strongly up the run in to grab a share of the spoils before later being promoted to outright winner.
That made it two wins from three starts for the lightly-raced Get Up Mush since he was sent chasing, cementing the positive start he has made in this sphere, and he hasn't finished improving.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsMaking her debut for Joseph Murphy in this fillies’ maiden in the Irish EBF auction series, Cercene was backed at long odds (sent off 11/1) and very much caught the eye with the penny really starting to drop late on.
In rear and still with plenty to do when forced wide entering the straight, she ran green over a furlong out before finishing best to claim third behind the 33/1 winner An Chorr Dubh and odds-on favourite Canto della Terra. Beaten a length and three quarters, Cercene was giving weight to the pair who beat her.
A €50,000 yearling, Cercene is an Australia half-sister to Marcus Tregoning’s smart winner up to a mile Perotto. She’s sure to improve and will be hard to beat in a similar event next time.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsA winning debutant collared an improver in quite an interesting novice, with a few in behind shaping well amidst greenness, most notably Prosperitas in third.
His sales price decreased to €37,500 at the breeze-ups earlier this year (cost €100,000 as a yearling) but he shaped with plenty of promise amidst greenness, switched for a run two furlongs out and staying on well despite hanging to his left in the final furlong.
Prosperitas was doing all of his best work at the finish, suggesting he'll be suited by at least seven furlongs, and has the ability to win something similar next time with improvement almost certain.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsMost of these have few secrets from the handicapper, but the gallop was sound and it should prove solid form all the same, and Falcon Nine is the sort who may go under the radar next time.
He was picked up out of Sir Michael Stoute's yard for 31,000 guineas by current connections and, while his form figures aren't too inspiring, he left the impression he's working his way back to form here.
Falcon Nine went in a first-time hood and travelled fluently, still going well when meeting trouble two furlongs out and badly hampered again a furlong from home. He was unable to recover afterwards, but barely came off the bridle, and he is one to look out for next time from what will likely be a career-low mark.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsShe may have been a cheap purchase as a yearling, but Harvesting’s price rose more than three-fold as a two-year-old and this half-sister to several winners, including the useful 6f-13f winner Mohareb and 1½m winner Dashing Panther, is starting to show why judging by her improved effort at Catterick on Wednesday (which came after a break).
Harvester caught the eye back up in trip, including those of the stewards, coming from much further back then the trio that beat her. She missed the break, raced well off the pace, and then made some progress over a furlong out before taking fourth on the line under considerate handling.
The yard’s juveniles have been among the winners of late and she's one to look out for in a nursery, related to some useful sorts (mainly over further) after all.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsNursery handicap season has snuck up on us and there was an early eye-catcher at Lingfield on Tuesday in a contest over the minimum trip.
All but two of the line-up were making their nursery debuts, but the modest pace led to quite a messy race in the sprint for home, with the runner-up Winchurch doing very well under the circumstances.
Having had excuses on turf the last twice, Winchurch showed much improved form back on the all-weather and was rather unlucky not to win after reverting to missing the break (rider also lost iron).
Winchurch raced off the pace, came wide entering the straight, before running on late in the day. He's clearly on a handy opening mark and can make amends next time presuming he doesn't forfeit as much ground as he did here.

Discover Sporting Life Plus BenefitsNo more than a fair event behind the experienced favourite, though promising newcomers did complete the places, with the fast-finishing third, Novamay, possibly emerging as the best long-term prospect.
She made some appeal on paper, and shaped with plenty of encouragement first time up, inexperience resulting in her being caught further back than ideal, but she came home with a wet sail, while she was also drawn much higher than the remainder in the frame, too.
Novamay wasn't unduly punished in the closing stages, either, and should have no problem picking up a similar event in the coming weeks, while she will also stay six furlongs no problem.
