Simon Holt has been in good form of late and he returns with two more selections for Friday's action.
Recommended bets
HOLY KINGDOM has improved in each of his last four starts and is fancied to complete a hat-trick in the bet365 Trophy Handicap at Newmarket on Friday.
The grey was actually beaten a nose by Godolphin's Volcanic Sky over this distance on the Rowley Mile course last time but, after being carried left by the winner, he was promoted and thereby followed up a reappearance win over 12 furlongs on the same course.
After an odds-on win at Chelmsford last September, Holy Kingdom served notice that he was on the up with a big-price third to the smart Hamish at York (soft) and then went down by only a head to John Gosden's useful stayer First In Line over this trip back at Chelmsford.
Quite simply, James Doyle's mount has done nothing wrong in any of these races, travels well, stays well and should be followed until reaching the limit of his capabilities.
Middleham trainer Mark Johnston is likely to pose the biggest threats with Themaxwecan, fourth at Royal Ascot last time, Star Of The East who has a good record on this course and Cape Coast who returned from a long absence to finish second at Thirsk.
Another progressive type is LUCANDER who could improve again raised in distance to a mile and a quarter in the bet365 Handicap thirty-five minutes later.
The Ralph Beckett-trained gelding, who is stoutly bred on his dam's side, won three of his five starts in the second half of 2019 over a mile and returned with a staying on third over the same distance at Haydock first time out in a strong-looking contest.
This too is competitive but there could be more to come from Lucander at this new trip on ground that should not be a problem.
