Matt Brocklebank has the Monday best bets with his Nap in action at Windsor.
James Horton's ORBITAL CHIME looks the one to be on at Windsor on Monday. He's got his preferred soft conditions here and has dropped back to his winning handicap mark of 73 having not had his head in front now since that nursery success almost two years ago. He remains quite lightly raced though and gave a good indication that he was on the way back when third to Hodler over seven furlongs at Epsom earlier this month. Six furlongs on bad ground is no issue at all and his high draw doesn't look a bad thing at all.
Plenty of rain in the forecast for Hamilton and in that case it could be worth chancing top weight CONTRAST on his return to action. The 10-year-old has a decent record when the mud is flying and was a winner off just a 3lb lower mark at Ripon earlier this year. The layoff following a subsequent poor run at Beverley suggests he wasn't right on that occasion but he's got a positive strike-rate when fresh from a break and the extended mile on what could be quite testing ground come race time will play to his strengths.
Ronnies Rules draws the eye given his string of wins in bumpers but CAN'T RESIST IT won't be a pushover and likely represents some value in the market. Officially rated 110 after two runs over timber earlier in the year, Fergal O'Brien has no doubt been working on his technique over the summer and he'll no doubt be given a forward ride by Johnny Burke around here.
CAVALRY CALL got a good ride from the front at Yarmouth last time but it was hard not to be impressed by the way he put them away, having hinted at what was to come when beaten half a length at Lingfield the time before. He now goes onto Tapeta for the first time but he's obviously progressed quite significantly since the hood was taken off (settling fine now) and he could be up to shrugging off the 6lb rise in the weights.
