Nic Doggett is on hand with the best bets across Thursday's meetings with the Nap running at Ludlow.
She’s proving hard to win with but RAWAASI shaped well stepped up to this trip for the first time at Southwell last time and is given another chance.
The daughter of Blue Point is in good hands and was strong in the market when chasing home Inhibit. From an unchanged mark, she must go close if in the same form.
As is often the case, the Tizzard yard has started the season well and – with five winners from 25 runners (+13.83 level stakes profit) at the time of writing - there is reason to think that SO SAID I will continue the good stable form.
Though yet to win on her seasonal reappearance, she has run well on two occasions and was in good form when last seen, seemingly appreciating the fitting of blinkers which were on when she was a creditable fourth from 4 lb out of the weights at Cheltenham.
A course winner over hurdles who should appreciate the step back up in trip over fences, So Said I is fancied to win from what looks a very fair perch (7 lb below highest winning mark).
Timeform ‘Horse In Focus’ Johnnywho opened his account over hurdles first time up here last season and is hugely respected, but it’s BUGISE SEAGULL who is fancied to win on his chase debut.
The good ground here may prove more suitable to Charlie Longsdon’s six-year-old, who is from the family of leading cross-country chaser Spot Thedifference, and was a fine third in the Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree when last seen in the spring.
Longsdon has struck with a quarter of the 16 runners he has had at the track and is fancied to enjoy more Cumbrian success.
There looks to be plenty of pace on here, thanks to So Smart and Abate in particular, and that should set the race up perfectly for the strong-travelling FOUR ADAAY.
Rod Millman’s mare won at Sandown in September, and though that form hasn’t worked out too well, it demonstrated that she is in good form (not discredited when 4½ lengths third to Balmoral Lady at Windsor last time).
Four Adaay acts well on testing ground, is still 4 lb below her last winning mark, and is fancied to get back to winning ways.
ANOTHER BUNGLE was well-held at Beverley on debut, slowly-away and never really in the hunt despite a forward move after halfway, but he could represent plenty of each-way value here if following in the footsteps of two of his half-brothers who were trained by Michael Dods.
Red Warning didn’t show too much on debut at Thirsk but was a comfortable winner at Ayr on his next start, while five-time winner Zuffalo was unfancied on debut at Beverley before taking top billing at Thirsk on his second outing.
Another Bungle’s Beverley maiden has already thrown up a subsequent winner and it would be no surprise to see him further improve his trainer’s record at Southwell (+45.74 lsp).
Most eyes will be on stablemate My Genghis who is chasing a hat-trick following the application of blinkers, but MY KIND OF GIRL is preferred at the odds with Clifford Lee an eye-catching jockey booking.
Lee actually rode My Genghis to victory when he broke his maiden tag over C&D back in January 2023, and connections will be hopeful he can repeat the feat on My Kind of Girl who has plenty of solid course form to her name.
There’s lots of pace on here which should suit this keen-going, strong-travelling Hunter’s Light filly and she can shed her maiden tag now dropped in trip once again.
