TIGER CRUSADE – 13:05 Lingfield (NAP)
David Simcock’s TIGER CRUSADE can go well in the Midnite: Built For 2025 Not 2005 Handicap over six furlongs at Lingfield on Wednesday. The son of No Nay Never returned after six months off over this track and trip last time out and he stayed on well for third late on behind Intervention. He can come on from that second time back and he’s usually a force in this sort of 0-85 off a big weight on the all-weather. Simcock’s all-weather team are going really well and he’s been one of the top performing trainers at this track at this time of year in recent seasons (nine wins from 35 at 25.71% at Lingfield in January since 2020).
TROY STORY – 20:00 Kempton
Eve Johnson Houghton is getting to grips with TROY STORY and it all might come together for him in the 1m3f handicap at Kempton. Stepped up from a mile to 1m4f at Southwell last time, he did too much on the front end when going clear only to be reeled in but the promise was there and he’s dropped another couple of pounds to a career-low 64. The slight drop in trip looks in his favour and you’d think Charles Bishop will be able to get him out in a prominent position from the wide draw in first-time cheekpieces.
