13:50 Haydock - Betfair Best Odds On ITV Races Handicap Hurdle (Class 2)
It is not without possibility that MR ANTOLINI would have got closer to the front pair had his jumping been slightly better when last seen at Cheltenham. It's an unforgiving course and he should fare better here. The drop back in trip is another positive as he travelled well for a long way in that same race.
14:05 Ascot - Christy 1965 Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1)
With the targets that POLITOLOGUE has on the horizon including the King George and maybe even the Gold Cup he should have too much for his rivals here. He's comfortably ahead on ratings even with a discrepancy in the weights and is a course and distance winner.
14:25 Haydock - Betfair Exchange Stayers' Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) (Class 1)
FIRST ASSIGNMENT has run two fine races at Cheltenham from his last two runs and still looks well treated under a penalty (is officially 8lb well-in). His main competition seems to come in the shape of Paisley Park who came last of the finishers in the Albert Bartlett but roared back to form when decisively winning last time out at Aintree.
14:40 Ascot - Coral Hurdle (Grade 2) (Registered As The Ascot Hurdle) (Class 1)
A rematch between If The Cap Fits and We Have a Dream heads the market here and both have outstanding chances of bettering their respective runs at Wincanton. The former has 3lb on the latter again and that could be the decisive piece of information. Yet it is OLD GUARD who gets the vote after showing good form in graded racing this year including defeating Lil Rockerfeller at Fontwell in February.
15:00 Haydock - Betfair Chase (Grade 1) (Registered As The Lancashire Chase) (Class 1)
Despite there only being five runners in this race, it's a stellar renewal. Gold Cup one-two Native River and MIGHT BITE are two of the outstanding candidates and no one can rule out Bristol De Mai on a racecourse he excels at. The selection gets his ground and with Nico de Boinville passed fit he's taken to beat his four rivals without any forecast rain.
15:15 Ascot - Gerard Bertrand Hurst Park Handicap Chase (Class 2)
OZZIE THE OSCAR was only narrowly denied by God's Own in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter last time out and could be a Grade horse running in a handicap. He's burdened by top weight here but was comfortably ahead of San Benedeto in that same race. Modus only narrowly defeated a horse who's only ever won off 140 but was clear of the rest at Cheltenham so is well found in the market.
15:35 Haydock - Better Value On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase (Class 2)
A small field to finish the game and all five runners have a chance on the pick of their best form. VINTAGE CLOUDS wants as long as possible in terms of trip with the ground no concern. His third in the Grand National is excellent form and he is taken to edge out Taunton, fast-ground scorer Braqueur D'Or.
