Six bets for our pundit on day one of the Cheltenham Festival - including a 20/1 chance in the feature Unibet Champion Hurdle.
Edwardstone
Held in high regard by Alan King team and form working out well. Needs more here but improvement is likely with the big field, strong pace scenario, sure to suit.

Esprit Du Large
Won the Henry VIII at Sandown and always the plan to head straight here from there. Has been underestimated in the market and big run on the cards for Evan Williams team.

Vinndication
Has to carry top weight in Ultima but impressive on return at Ascot and can leave handicaps behind by taking this form an eight pounds higher mark than in Berkshire.

Ballyandy
Previous Festival winner and very tough and capable two mile hurdler. Showed great tenacity to reel-in Pentland Hills at Haydock and looks overpriced.

Trainwreck
Big step forward on previous chasing form when pitched into handicap company for the first time at Leopardstown and big player here under Rachael Blackmore.

Lord Du Mesnil
Sam Waley-Cohen rides and the seven-year-old ran a cracker when second in the Haydock Grand National Trial last time. He has stamina in abundance and jumps well so is tailormade for this.
