A competitive affair but it would be no surprise to see CITY HOUSE run a mighty race.

James Fanshawe's charge caught the eye at Kempton last time, making rapid headway from an unpromising position to finish second behind Drama, beaten a neck. He's up two pounds but relatively low mileage and takes on older and more exposed rivals on Saturday.

14:35 Newcastle - Marbuzet

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-9| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby| OR:  66| D
14/1

He arrives here in great form and MARBUZET looks sure to give another bold show.

The five-year-old finished fourth behind Letsbefrank at Thirsk time, beaten just two-and-three-quarter lengths having been shuffled back turning for home and short of room inside the final furlong. He's down a pound and a big player.

14:50 Newmarket - Crystal Delight

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-2| J: Jim Crowley| T: Harry Eustace| OR:  105| D
3/1

He's two-from-two this season and CRYSTAL DELIGHT looks well worth trying in this grade.

He was impressive as he made all to beat Kihavah by four-and-three-quarter lengths at York last time and he's the only pace angle in this race. For all King Of Conquest brings stronger form to the table, the thriving leader might take some passing.

15:10 Newcastle - Spartan Army

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-11| J: Billy Loughnane| T: A King| OR:  95| D
7/1

He was a revelation switched to artificial services earlier in the year and SPARTAN ARMY can claim his biggest success to date.

He was unsuited by a tactical race at this track two runs ago and shaped better than the finishing position suggests when fifth back on turf at Newbury last time. He's only four pounds higher than when winning at Lingfield in March and trainer Alan King has a good record in this race.
