David Redvers guides Oli Bell through Qatar Racing's team for 2020

David Redvers guides Oli Bell through Qatar Racing's team for 2020 including a host of well-bred and exciting two-year-olds.

SELINO

A nice older horse who we have with James Fanshawe and he's a Champs Elysees, staying prospect. We bought him in training privately and are pretty excited about him.

DARAIN

An unraced full-brother to Too Darn Hot but a different type and a ten furlong horse. So far it’s all looking good with him, though. Oisin Murphy had a sit on him and got a great feel.

ENEMY

A very well bred Muhaarar colt who bolted up in his maiden at Ascot. That was his only run and he’s held in high regard by John Gosden.

GOOD VIBES

We bought her quite expensively at the December Sales. She’s a top-class sprinting filly and has gone up to Michael Dods. We’re looking forward to seeing what she can do.

GREAT POWER

He’s with Simon Callaghan in America and I know he likes him a lot.

HEART REEF

With Ralph Beckett and won a Haydock maiden. She was slightly over the top when running in a stakes race at Newmarket afterwards. She’s done very well over the winter and will hold an Oaks entry.

KNOW IT ALL

Johnny Murtagh trains her. She’s very well bred and the plan is to go for a Guineas trial but my suspicion is she’s going to turn into a very smart sprinting prospect.

KAMEKO

He is all set for the Guineas and hopefully following in Roaring Lion’s footsteps. He’s our most exciting prospect by some way.

RIOT

He’s a smart Kingman horse who is going to be dropped back to sprint trips by John Gosden and has also wintered well.

Two-year-olds

We have one of the most exciting bunches we’ve had for a while. These are the named ones but by no means our full list...

ELECTRIC

A very nice, sharp early filly who is with Archie Watson. She’s had a minor setback but will hopefully be running quite quickly when racing resumes.

FUTURE

A gorgeous Galileo filly out of Question Times who has just gone to John Gosden. You’d expect to see her in a smart maiden in July and she is very, very lovely and was quite expensive.

LOCKDOWN

He’s a Charm Spirit colt out of Bounty Box. He wasn’t that expensive at 40,000 guineas and has gone to Hugo Palmer and I know pleasing him no end.

LOUISVILLE

Another Charm Spirit and this time with Joseph O’Brien. He’s been finding life pretty easy up the mountain and we’re all keen to see him out nice and early.

MAHOMES

Dubawi out of The Fugue and cost a million guineas. He won’t be out until the autumn but is a gorgeous horse as his price tag and pedigree would indicate.

MARINE

A smallish Sea The Stars colt that cost 400,000 euros at Arqana and is with Andrew Balding. He loves this horse and he’s a half-brother to Heart Reef. He’s not a big horse but has a huge action and is pleasing them a great deal at Kingsclere.

SCIENCE

A No Nay Never colt who was bought at the October Sales and is with Archie Watson. He’d be expected to be out pretty swiftly when racing starts and could be a Royal Ascot two-year-old if there is such a thing this year.

TERRIFY

A filly I loved at the sales. She is with David Simcock who trained her dam, Terror. She was a small and very fast daughter of Kodiac. This filly is by Galileo so will hopefully have a bit more size and scope than her mum but hopefully a bit of her speed too.

TIMESCALE

Another Charm Spirit and with Ralph Beckett. She’s a really lovely filly and I’d be very enthusiastic about her. She’s a half-sister to a filly we had called Bletchley by Makfi who was second in the Albany and with a bit of luck might turn this one might turn into a Royal Ascot two-year-old as well.
