Lucky 15 Tips for today: Best racing tips

Check out our Lucky 15 for Friday's ITV Racing action from Oaks day at Epsom.

What is a Lucky 15?

It’s one of those phrases you’re likely to hear when watching racing, so we thought it would be a good idea to explain exactly what a Lucky 15 means and how easy it is to place such a bet.

In short, the Lucky 15 is an acca including four elements, although all four bets don’t have to win to produce a profit/return.

The selections are combined into one four-fold accumulator, trebles, doubles and individual singles.

So, the Lucky 15 can be summed up as follows: 1 accumulator, 4 trebles, 6 double, 4 singles = 15 bets

An each-way Lucky 15, as advised below, is therefore 30 bets, and you will get a return of some kind if only one horse places.

EMILY UPJOHN – 3.10 Epsom

John & Thady Gosden’s EMILY UPJOHN can land the Dahlbury Coronation Cup on her seasonal reappearance under Frankie Dettori at Epsom on Friday. The daughter of Sea The Stars was an unlucky second in the Oaks last year and the hood brought out the best in her on Champions Day. In a tight race her 3lb sex allowance could be vital and she’s taken to kick off the multiple with a win.

SOUL SISTER – 4.30 Epsom

It could be a good day for the Gosdens and their daughter of Frankel, SOUL SISTER, can deny Ballydoyle hotpot Savethelastdance in a fascinating Betfred Oaks. She bounced back from a disappointing run in the Fred Darling with an eyebrow-raising win in a deep Musidora at York where she sprinted away from some nice fillies to win by four lengths. Stamina does not look an issue judging by her pedigree and she can give Dettori a dream Oaks day.

STREETS OF GOLD – 5.10 Epsom

Eve Johnson Houghton’s STREETS OF GOLD can benefit from wind surgery in the Nyetimber Surrey Stakes. The three-year-old was five from five as a two-year-old which earned him a rating of 103 and he can be forgiven his sixth-place finish in very testing conditions in the Greenham. He handled faster ground very well at two and can prove he’s trained on here under Charlie Bishop.

URBAN SPRAWL – 5.45 Epsom

Charlie Johnston’s URBAN SPRAWL proved himself a force to be reckoned with over seven furlongs on good ground at Goodwood on Saturday and he can go in again under a 6lb penalty. The son of Iffraaj didn’t see another rival at the weekend and it looks likely he’ll take them along from stall six again here. He’s had a busy enough spring already but is taking his racing well and he could be tough to reel in under Joe Fanning.
