Fran Berry best bets for Fairyhouse on Tuesday

Two bets for our man at Fairyhouse this afternoon with a Ballydoyle filly expected to break her maiden on the card.

Recommend bets:

2pts win Friendly in 1.20 Fairyhouse at 6/4

1pt e.w Jenson's Joy in 3.40 Fairyhouse at 12/1

The first race at Fairyhouse looks almost a match between favourite Windsor Pass and FRIENDLY for the Ballydoyle team.

Colin Keane may be aboard Cartouche but on form I’ve no doubt the selection is Aidan O’Brien’s first string. You have to put a line through a poor run at Dundalk last time but that came only eight days after a hard race at Naas and with a good break behind her, I expect her to be back to her best in this.

Soft ground should suit on pedigree too and I think she’s bet against a market leader who I’m not sure came forward that far from his Curragh debut last time.

Confirmed mudlark Enter The Red is a worthy favourite for the fairyhouse.ie Handicap with Pretty Smart second best in the betting. She’s a serious player but I liked the way JENSON’S JOY shaped behind her at Navan last time.

He eventually finished 11th but was running on well up the hill in the closing stages to beaten four-and-three-quarter lengths. Improvement can be expected and that was his first handicap.

He was ridden by the stable’s apprentice that day and Shane Foley takes over in the saddle this time and the yard are going great with three winners from their last ten runners.

Going up to six furlongs is going to suit, I think he’ll handle the ground and at 12/1 he makes plenty of each-way appeal.
