SWEET JUSTICE looks worth an each-way bet in the Please Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap over seven furlongs at Gowran (1.55) today.

It’s a competitive handicap for the grade and Kosman and Shona Mea dominate the market with both backing up quickly from two or three days off.

However, Sweet Justice has been second to both of these horses on occasions and she ran a strong race at Leopardstown 10 days ago from stall 13, only getting caught late on despite running keen.

In stall three this afternoon, she has the perfect set up to lay up behind Kosman who could make the running from stall two.

With her form tying in nicely with the market leaders she looks a good each-way bet at 9/1 getting four places.

In the day’s feature, the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Vintage Tipple Stakes at 2.30, we also have two horses dominating the betting in Kastasa and Heliac.

Kastasa was a fast-improving filly for Dermot Weld last year and his horses have been in good form the last few weeks, but she hasn’t run yet this year and I do wonder if she’ll possibly be better for the run.

Heliac won on her seasonal debut and could improve for the trip, but the ground has gone yielding, with heavy showers forecast, and Colin Keane was hoping for no worse than good.

As a consequence I’m happy to take on the two market leaders again and it’s Joseph O’Brien’s second string that I like, MIGHTY BLUE, each-way at 9/1.

She was beaten by her stable companion Traisha last week in Killarney and they are two ex-French imports, but Mighty Blue made a big move four furlongs out under 10 stone and looked all over the winner until the last 200 yards.

I’d hope she’s ridden conservatively today up in trip, but this daughter of Authorized has a soft-ground pedigree and a pronounced knee action, so conditions should be absolutely perfect for her.

She needs to relax, but if she does settle for Shane Crosse she’s a big player.

Finally, back CHARLIE BASSETT in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at 4.15.

Noel Meade’s horse was just beaten on the line in a handicap at Fairyhouse on his first start in the sphere and he took it up two furlongs out, going by the eventual winner, was two lengths clear at the furlong pole before not quite getting home.

He’s slightly down in distance today, but he’s another whose action suggests he’ll be right at home on soft ground and odds of 4/1 make plenty of appeal.
