There’s a good late afternoon/evening card at Cork today with the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Tetrarch Stakes at 6.30 the highlight.

It looks a good race to watch and enjoy, but I couldn’t find a selection in the contest. There are, however, two bets I like both of which I’ve put up in the column before.

Firstly, SOLENE LILYETTE looks a good bet in the Thanks To All The Frontline Workers From Cork Racecourse Fillies Maiden at 4.30.

She ran behind subsequent Group winner Thundering Nights at Leopardstown in August when she was a pacemaker, and you can put a line through her run at Dundalk last time as she got wiped out after a furlong.

Her jockey got four days for interference and on a day when it was difficult to make ground from off the pace her chance was gone.

Rated 86, Dermot Weld has put first-time blinkers on her and he has a terrific record when applying that particular headgear at Cork – he’s had six winners from 20 goes at 30% including Taramansour here in July.

Oisin Orr takes over and she’s got a good stall in eight, so I expect a big run from her today and she’s a win bet having being backed this morning.

The other one I like is DROMBEG DUKE in the Mallow Handicap at 7.30.

I put him up last time he ran, too, at Naas and there was an extreme high draw bias that day and he had no chance from stall five as it turned out.

Shane Foley switched him looking for the better ground, but he could never get into the race and I’m happy to put a line through him as well.

Helpfully the handicapper dropped him 4lb so he’s now only 3lb higher than his last winning mark at Dundalk last year, and he’s better drawn in 15 today than the last time he ran here when sixth to Lady Boomerang two starts ago.

Dylan Browne McMonagle claims 7lb and that’s a golden concession, he’s big value for that, and with him on board this horse is worth an each-way bet at 5/1 (Paddy Power are paying five places).
