1pt win Dapper Guest in the 2.35 Yarmouth at 11/1 (General – minimum 10/1)

It’s Yarmouth’s big fixture of the season this week, and the ground is likely to ride on the soft side of good. The opening nursery is difficult, with improvers wherever you look, but DAPPER GUEST, from a yard that like to line one up for this week has to be one high on the shortlist. Clueless on debut, he learnt plenty from that to finish midfield on good ground here at Yarmouth and then ran to a very similar level at Newmarket last time, looking very much like the seventh furlong was now required. A half-brother to the useful Azure Blue, he’s far from the finished article and we expect him to improve.
Incidentally, owner John Guest likes a winner at Yarmouth and his runners are 12-75 here in the last decade, with backers over £750 ahead to a £10 stake at Betfair SP
5:05 Yarmouth
STONE CIRCLE has an admirable track record here, with three wins from nine starts, on ground ranging from good to firm to soft. His mark is now 8lb lower than his last win here, and having now returned to form, being the only one to get near the improving Fletchers Flight at Leicester last week, there’s no reason he can’t go well back at his most favoured venue.
