Review of the action from Saturday's meeting at Doncaster

A round-up of the pick of the rest of the meeting at Doncaster on Saturday where Mustashry was a game winner of the Park Stakes.

Park life for game Mustashry

Mustashry showed tremendous resolution to win the Alan Wood Plumbing And Heating Park Stakes.

The 5/2 favourite was always towards the head of affairs but looked to be in trouble when the Godolphin pair of Dutch Connections and D'bai swept through to challenge.

At the same time Ryan Moore was looking for daylight aboard the strong-travelling Oh This Is Us and he began to charge but the winner was digging deep under Jim Crowley and repelled all challengers.

At the line he had a neck in hand of D'bai (7/2) with Oh This Is Us (6/1) a short-head away in third.

Crowley said: "Obviously we were dropping back to seven furlongs and we couldn't see any obvious pace in the race. We got a little bit outpaced, but he was well on top at the line. I won't be advising Sir Michael anything. I'm sure he's got a plan for him.

"It's great that he's so versatile and you can go from seven to 10 furlongs. He's a super horse that seems to be improving."

Buick shines aboard Portland hero

A Momentofmadness ran his rivals ragged to win the William Hill Portland Handicap.

William Buick took the race by the scruff of the neck as soon as the stalls opened and his partner showed blistering speed to lead the field a merry dance.

A furlong out the pack began to close but the 25/1 winner found plenty for his rider's urgings and went on to score by a three-quarters of a length.

Encrypted (20/1), gamble of the race Wentworth Falls (14/1) and Dakota Gold (7/1) filled the minor placings.

Winning trainer Charlie Hills said: "William gave him a great ride. He showed some speed from the gates - I think he nicked a couple of lengths and it was always going to be hard to peg him back. He seemed to be in front for a long time, but you don't want to disappoint him.

"He's come down a couple of pounds and that has obviously helped. There's a race at Ascot we might look at, but we'll see how he comes out of the race."
