This looks a competitive heat for the grade and there are not many that you’d say can be ruled out with confidence.

Three-time course winner Pearl Spectre has been eased in grade since Wednesday’s third-placed effort at Lingfield but seems better over a further so may find this six-furling trip a bit on the sharp side despite a nice low draw.

The former Godolphin-owned Human Nature has been in good form over seven recently and comes here on the back of a nose defeat at this track a fortnight ago. This four-year old has struck up a nice partnership with Milly Naseb of late and should go well.

The two I’m focusing on though are Born To Finish and BAHAMIAN HEIGHTS, who are closely matched on past form.

The former, trained by the in-form Jamie Osborne, has posted some solid efforts in recent starts and is on an unchanged mark as for when a close second here last week, but had previously been beaten by the selection over course and distance and the pair re-oppose on exactly the same terms.

Robert Cowell’s six-year old followed that victory up with a half-length second at Kempton before scoring here over the minimum last time out. He came through the pack cantering and kicked clear nicely winning with a bit in hand and the step back up in trip won’t be an issue having already won four times at this distance.

The negative with both is that they're drawn out wide, but the selection overcame a similar draw when beating this rival at the beginning of November. He should enjoy the pace that’s on offer and 7lb apprentice Jonathan Fisher (two-time winner already on this horse) can pick up the pieces late on.

Prince Jai has won twice over seven furlongs at this course and now tries the mile trip for only a second time, with his first attempt a decent second-placed effort. He remains unexposed under these conditions and has a chance.

Broughtons Knight made a pleasing stable debut here last time after winning over this trip on his final start for his old handler and may improve for that recent outing but has struggled off this sort of mark previously.

Pass The Cristal could go well at a bigger price having scored in a similar race to this on his penultimate start before maybe finding a rise in the weights too much when fifth behind a couple of these last time. It’d be no surprise to see him get in the places as he’s another who is unexposed over a mile.

SAMPHIRE COAST was one of those who finished ahead of Pass The Cristal when second. He’s left alone by the handicapper for that two-length defeat and has been showing signs of late that he might be ready to win again.

This four-year old’s last success came over course and distance and although 5lb higher here, has been eased slightly in grade and can go one better from a handy draw. He's worth a bet each-way, with Sky Bet offering an extra place.
