Celestial Path has yet to taste success since his first two career starts under the handling of Sir Mark Prescott, and, although he progressed into a 100-plus horse on the Flat he has been bitterly disappointing thus far over hurdles.
There is no doubt he has the most ability of these and there is every chance he will make a mockery of his handicap mark one day, but, on what the David Pipe five year old has shown so far over hurdles 4/1 doesn't tempt me.
Too Many Diamonds was a busy boy during the spring and did connections proud by rattling up a four timer. His last performance wasn't at all bad after a month lay-off from his busy spell and although he's likely to run his race again he doesn't look to have that much in hand of the handicapper.
A horse who I put up on his last start who ran really well at a big price is TREASURE THE RIDGE.
He sat prominently throughout and jumped well but got racing early with Bistouri D'Honore and What A Scorcher, who both ended up feeling those exertions and weakening.
Treasure The Ridge managed to keep tabs with the improving Theo, who had the run of the race having been given a patient ride, and was only beaten four and a half lengths, with twelve lengths back to the third.
That was his first run in a handicap and as he run's off the same mark today, the 15/2 (Bet Victor, Paddy Power) looks a big price to me.
Sureness is steadily coming down the weights but frustrates me a little, but she could give backers a run for their money at 14/1.
