Cliffside Park was an impressive winner on debut for Olly Murphy in a modest selling hurdle. His next appearance was over fences when disappointing with a poor round of jumping; three days later he was back over hurdles and ran well below par.
He's giving weight to the opposition today and connections will be hoping the his mini-break sees him bounce back to form.
That said I prefer his stablemate's chances - Hongkong Aventure. Dropping down to two miles on decent ground with blinkers on may be more his cup of tea and 15/2 is tempting.
However, HONKYTONKTENNESSEE has caught my eye a few times during the summer and gets the vote.
This trend has continued and two starts back I thought he hit the front too soon at Uttoxeter over fences. I put him up last time at Huntingdon and he was caught out wide early and a couple of jumping errors put paid to his chances. He didn't run too badly in the circumstances.
This horse is quite a low jumper over fences and there's no reason why he cannot run to the same form over hurdles today. His last start over hurdles was at Sedgefield and he didn't seem himself in a race where the pace held up.
On the balance of his form, a mark of 112 over hurdles looks very attractive and this is one of the weakest races he has contested in since joining the yard of Dan Skelton. With that in mind he's worth backing at odds-against.
