National Hunt expert and professional punter Murt Khan highlights his best bet of the day on Wednesday.
Some useful types feature in the Vera Davies Memorial Chase - a limited novices' handicap.
I've been a fan of The Gipper since his winning hurdling debut at Chepstow, he's a horse who wears his heart on his sleeve and generally tries to make all at a decent lick.
However, I do think he may be a better hurdler than chaser with his low, quick style of jumping. He's entitled to improve for his chasing debut but he may just be vulnerable to a horse with more scope.
This leads me on to the selection, BIGMARTRE.
Being an imposing-looking type, I was always led to believe he would make a better chaser than hurdler. Up to now he has recorded three wins from 10 starts in the UK and being only six years of age has the scope to improve even further.
In the past couple of years he has won after a lay-off so fitness shouldn't be an issue alongside the fact he likes to race on a sound surface. With all these factors taken into account, the price looks a fair one.
Mad Jack Mytton should put his recent chasing experience to good use but doesn't look thrown in, while Mick Thonic could find these conditions a tad sharp.
