The NFL have announced that the 2020 Draft will go ahead in Las Vegas in April but without any fans being there in person.
The NFL Draft is the second biggest event in the league calendar behind the Super Bowl, with viewers tuning in in their millions to see the cream of the college game being selected by their NFL teams.
Despite the current coronavirus crisis which is engulfing the world, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says they will still hold their annual selection event in Las Vegas.
The NFL Draft will still take place from April 23 to April 25 and will be screened live on television, but there will be no fans in attendance in Vegas.
"This decision reflects our foremost priority - the health and safety of all fans and citizens," said Goodell.
"While this outcome is disappointing both to the NFL and to the Las Vegas community, we look forward to partnering with the Raiders, the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for a future NFL Draft as well as evaluating opportunities for other major NFL events in Las Vegas in the future, including the Super Bowl."
The new NFL season is set to begin September 10 when the SUper Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the annual kick-off game, but that could yet be affected by the coronavirus crisis.
If the season goes to plan, Super Bowl LV will bring the curtain down on the campaign on February 7, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
