Weekend Winner: Details of large payouts, tales of punting genius and Sporting Life's winning tips

Tiger Woods and Tiger Roll brought home an 80/1 special for Sky Bet punters, while The Masters winner handed one a £20K Super Sunday jackpot.

Super Sunday

Joshua from Staffordshire had Tiger Woods to thanks for completing a tasty treble that netted him £20,000 for picking the correct scores in the two Premier League matches alongside Tiger Woods to win the Masters.

After Man City won 3-1 at Crystal Palace and Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0, Woods went on to claim a fifth green jacket at The Masters in Augusta to complete a huge win for our shrewd punter.

Tiger double comes in

Speaking of Tiger Woods, Sky Bet are reporting plenty of winners in their special 'Tiger double' priced up at 80/1 for Tiger Roll to win the Grand National and Tiger Woods to win The Masters.

Tiger Roll powered away to an impressive defence at Aintree last Saturday, and Woods did the business by duly claiming a 5th major at Augusta on Sunday.

Simon Holt strikes

Simon Holt struck gold in the Coral Scottish Grand National after recommending an each-way bet at 28/1 on winner Takingrisks.

The Nicky Richards-trained runner was sent off at 25/1 in Saturday’s big betting race over fences at Ayr but delivered a fantastic performance under Sean Quinlan.

Takingrisks was one of three Saturday selections for Simon, whose preview included three bets and returned a profit of 30.6pts.

He wrote in Friday’s column: “The Nicky Richards-trained gelding has put together some good efforts this season and, with the exception of a poor jumping round at Newcastle, has tended to finish off strongly at distances of around three miles.

This was never more eyecatching than when he rushed home from the final fence at Haydock (good) in November, failing by half a length to catch last year's third Vintage Clouds, and the fitting of cheekpieces for the first time seemed to sharpen him up at Carlisle last month when he accounted for Jepeck on heavy ground.”

Top football tipping

In the Premier League we correctly called the result AND and anytime goalscorer tip in three of the four live weekend games, but our biggest win came in the EFL.

On what proved to be a super Saturday for our tipping talent, Tom Carnduff’s anytime scorer selection Jake Cooper popped up with a 95th minute header as Millwall claimed a huge late point at Sheffield United.

Our Sky Bet EFL expert argued a fine case for the 16/1 shot, writing: “The visitors will rely on lofted balls into the box as their best chance of scoring, and Cooper is capable of capitalising in those situations.”

And capitalise he did, mopping up from close range after a rebound which fell to him in the centre of the penalty area.

Trio strike gold

A trio of racing fans had some decent winnings on Saturday...

Andy from Winchester won £6.3k with 4 winners out of 4 on a 9p each way Lucky 15 on this Saturday’s ITV races.

Alan from Barnsley won £10.1k after cashing out his £1 each way 6 horse accumulator after the first four selections had won on Saturday. The remaining two selections were beaten.

James from Tonbridge won £5.7k from a £10 each way double on the two big Saturday handicaps, the Scottish National and the Spring Cup.
