Having grown up a stone’s throw from Valley Parade, dreams of playing there one day came true at the start of the 2019/2020 season as the 35-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Bantams and fulfilled a lifelong ambition to join his hometown club…the same club who rejected him as a youngster!
Now at his 12th club, the veteran striker has seen it all, from non-league football with York to international football with Jamaica. Donaldson still feels he has plenty to offer and would love to see out his final years in the game with Bradford City.
Talking exclusively to Sporting Life, Donaldson sheds light on his career including his fruitful time with Brentford, working with Gianfranco Zola, Harry Redknapp and Gary Rowett at Birmingham and the capitulation at Bolton Wanderers.
