There was controversy at Elland Road as Kemar Roofe's equaliser for Leeds against Nottingham Forest was given. The forward appeared to handle the ball as he bundled it over the line and it rescued Marcelo Bielsa's side a precious point against promotion rivals Forest.

Elsewhere, Billy Sharp scored a hat-trick as Sheffield United opened up a two-point lead at the top, while Birmingham continued their great run under Garry Monk as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1.

Oli McBurnie ended a nine-game goalless run by hitting the back of the net in Swansea's win over struggling Reading, piling pressure on former Swans boss Paul Clement.

In-form Norwich beat Brentford as Thomas Frank's reign starts with three successive defeats, with the Bees now without a win in nine in all competitions.
