Phil Thompson told Sporting Life that Liverpool will celebrate with the 'parade upon all parades' when it's safe enough to celebrate their Premier League title - without an asterisk.
As everyone knows, Liverpool have finally ended their 30-year wait for the title Jurgen Klopp's side have powered away from the field during a dominant campaign.
They sat 25 points clear of the pack when football came to a stop, and claimed the trophy with a 23-point margin when Man City lost at Chelsea.
The situation of the season will no doubt get a mention, but such is the gap that Liverpool managed to open up, Thompson will have nothing about talk of an asterisk accompanying their title success.
And says Liverpool will celebrate in style once it's safe to do so.
"I don't think anyone will deny Liverpool are fully justified to win it, for them to be so superior this season, having the break will not dimish the achievement at all," Thompson told Sporting Life.
"The big shame is the fans won't be their to see it, you can imagine after 30 years what the celebrations would be like.
"There won't be any asterisk next to it, it will be Liverpool FC, 19-times league champions and our first Premier League title. And at a given time, we will have the parade upon all parades."

That asterisk may have to be included at some point to recognise the exceptional circumstances of the season, but the way Liverpool demolished the Premier League before that still means they should be classed as among the league's greatest.
"The gap was 25 points, this is one of the great Premier League footballing sides we've witnessed this season, and to do it againt this wonderful Manchester City side with some tremendous players as well is incredible," Thompson added.
"To be so far clear of them is absolutely astonishing, so it shouldnt be undervalued by any means.
"These people calling for the asterix, they've had their little fix that Liverpool won't be able to win it in front of their own fans or have the parade we would all want. So they've had their fix, so let us enjoy the moment now, which is richly deserved."
