Premier League leaders Liverpool have the most valuable football squad in Europe, a new study has revealed.
The CIES Football Observatory have developed a statistical model which determines the value of a player, before taking 'into account the 20 players per club with the highest values'.
The research across the continent's top five leagues (England, Spain, Germany, France and Italy) sees eight Premier League sides included.
Liverpool's value sees them worth slightly more than title rivals Man City, with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid close behind.
Chelsea, despite their transfer ban, have seen their value pass the billion-pound mark due to the young players' development under Frank Lampard this season.
The model to determine a player's value combines some of the following variables: Age, contract duration, international status, career progression, performances, sporting level, economic level and inflation.
PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappe tops the charts in terms of individual players, with the 21-year-old valued by the company at over £225million.
In terms of the Premier League valuations, Crystal Palace sit bottom with a combined squad value of £190m, closely followed by top-flight newcomers Sheffield United (£191m) - which shows they are pulling well above their weight in seventh position - and Burnley (£192m).
