The third weekend of the Sky Bet EFL season is here and we have the latest Sporting Life Accumulator, with four selections for Saturday afternoon.
It's been a horrible start for Stoke so far with two defeats from two but the season starts now for the Potters, who are unbeaten in their last four against Derby, winning three of those contests. Stoke have been reasonably unlucky in that they've only allowed six shots on target so far this season but have conceded five goals from them as teams have been ultra-clinical against them. Shots have also been raining in on Derby so are due to let a few goals in if Stoke can be just a bit more clinical.
History is not on the side of Bristol Rovers here, with the Rovers not winning a league game at Coventry since 1928! They're also winless on the road since March in the league so it's safe to these Pirates are not really the voyaging type of late. Coventry by contrast have been on a decent little run at home and won their season opener against Southend - they also were unlucky not to win at Bolton last week when having three goals disallowed.
Home advantage is key in this fixture with the home side winning the last eight meetings between the two teams, and we see it sticking to that system this week. The run is so strong that Dale haven't won at Shrewsbury as a third tier team since 1971 - with the Shrews dominating their last seven league games by an aggregate of 16-7. Those numbers all add up to a home win.
Two unbeaten teams here but Forest Green had the better of the rivalry last season, winning both games and bagging seven goals, and we're expecting them to continue that dominance on Saturday. Rovers are unbeaten in the last four at the New Lawn and have been a hard side to break down having conceded just once during that span.
