Key dates for the 2020/21 Premier League season
When does it start?
The new campaign will start on the weekend of Saturday 12 September, and will end on Sunday 23 May.
Is there a Premier League winter break?
There is no winter break as such, but matchday 18 will be split into two, played over two seperate midweeks to give sides a small breather.
When does the Champions League start?
The delayed group stages of the Champions League will begin on October 20/21 with the final taking place in Istanbul on May 29 2021. Istanbul was due to host the 2020 final before the pandemic struck.
When does the summer transfer window shut?
The summer transfer window is for 10 weeks, starting on July 27 and ending at 11pm on October 5.
There is also an additional domestic-only window that runs until 5pm on October 16, when Premier League clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs.
When is the Community Shield?
Premier League champions Liverpool will take on FA Cup winners Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday August 29.
There will be an international break straight away after the game from September 2-10.
