Lucas Moura joins Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have announced the signing of Lucas Moura from Paris St Germain on a contract until 2023.

The Brazilian made more than 200 appearances in his five-year stay at the Parc des Princes, helping the club to four Ligue 1 titles in the process.

But having fallen behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the pecking order this season, the 25-year-old winger has moved to north London on a long-term deal for an undisclosed fee, reported to be £25million.

He said in a video on his new club's Twitter account: "It's a chapter in my life, a new challenge for me. I am so happy."

Moura sees no reason why Tottenham cannot be competing for the top prizes, not just domestically but in Europe as well.

He said: "I will give my best for this club because I think we have a lot of quality and we can win big things. I am so excited because everything is perfect and I'm sure we will do big things together.

"I want to play to help the team. I think the team is very, very strong. We can win a lot of things and why not the Champions League?"

All six of Moura's appearances for PSG this season have been off the bench, and he added: "The most important thing is to play.

"Here I think it's a new challenge to show my talent, my quality. It's also a big club. The history of the club is very, very interesting. It's a pleasure for me to play for Tottenham. Now I need to enjoy, to work hard and to show my quality."
